Christmas QAL

Today, the 2nd Saturday of the month is  Quilt Times  QAL I wasn't able to start this morning with everyone else. First I had to go pick green beans that are out in the garden, doing very nicely this year. Nothing like what I had to go through last year. I posted about the groundhog that was eating my garden last year  here this years green beans Then I worked the Quilt Show in Tulsa. So here are a few pictures I want to share So when I finally was able to sit down and sew, I just did one block. I wanted to see what it would look like. After seeing what the others had accomplished I had to get at least one done. This is it.  But After I made it I thought what would it look like if I turned the four patch. So here is the same block but with the four patch laying on top of it but turned. Which way do you like? I need input!  I can not decide which direction I like the best. Thank you Kat Don't pass up the chance to win the

Tulsa Quilt Show

This weekend is the Tulsa Quilt Show and I helped my friend Pam at her booth. I have so much fun I can not really say it's work even thou you are on your feet for 7 hours, no time for lunch and have to be mentally alert (now that's work & sometime a challenge). But usually at the end of the show you have time to see the quilts and check out the other vendors. I have so much and so many projects to do that I try to find the unusual. and this time I did. The most beautiful crafted woodwork. I love wood and  this man had items made from  commonly seen wood but also had pieces from rarely used and unusual wood. This is what I came home with. Shaker style basket    Two shaker boxes and a seam ripper When not being used the point is inside the handle This is with cutter out, the handle is butter in my hand. Had a large selection. Wish list item He also had other beautifully crafted bowls and plates. If you are going

Cutest Kitty Purse

I have a daughter who likes Hello Kitty, just proves girls of all ages like this character. So when I came across Melinda at  MoCrochet   blog  and that she had this pattern for free , I decided that I just had to make this for her birthday next week. This is what I have done so far, took maybe a little over an hour. I have to make another one just like this one. Is still going on, deadline is June 11. Enter  HERE .  A picture for you chicken lover, one of "my girls" I can't say it's one of her best looks, if you know what I mean. Till next time Kat =^..^=

It's Been 1 year

I can't believe that I would forget my blogs anniversary, it was last Thursday May 31.  WOW  1   Year This has been a fun journey in my life and I have learned so much. You see, older "Kats" can learn new tricks. One of the main thing I learned is that there are so many friendly and nice people out there in  blog-land. Yes,   that means   you You all have given me so much by way of taking your time to visit my blog and leaving so many comments. I love hearing what you have to say and a lot of times it gives me encouragement to continue and finding new things to share. So I want to give something back to you all and it will be very simply.  I was thinking how I could express my Thanks and I realized that I have so many interests that I post about that some of you are interested in only one part of what I share. Whether it's gardening, the farm life, chickens, quilting, knitting, cooking or just a little bit of this or that, and I could not jus

What's Up Monday

What a bright and sunny new day It has been almost a month since I last posted a What's Up. Boy does it feel good to be able to, little by little I getting back into a routine of being home. The first thing I need to get done is this month BOM of Michele Hill's,  Morris Meadow. So here is a list to myself of the top priority of things I want to get done this week I have to admit this is a short list, my clipboard is loaded with a bunch of tasks that I also need to do but I didn't think you would be interested in the mundane things, exp. People to call, chicken chores like cleaning their yard, putting out straw for them or making sure they have clean bedding and water. These are things I do on daily bases and could get boring to others. Hope you have a great day till next time  Kat =^..^=

Home Sweet Home

It is so good to be back home, except for one thing the little dudes are back in California. They are so cute and will grow so much before I get to see them again, but my daughter promise to send me lots of pictures.                   Blake                               Ben                                     "The man of the place" did a great job keeping all the plants alive, in fact he did such a good job, the weeds in the veggie patch are something else. I have been working on cleaning them up. Just see for yourself In there somewhere.are the tomatoes I planted 6 weeks ago  There they are  He also did a great job keeping "the girls" happy. He had so many eggs to deal with, he ended up selling the eggs that I usually take care of. So I need to update my numbers.   Then I finally was able to pick up my new car when I came back home. It has been a long wait. We order it back in February, and could not believe it too
