November is becoming a blurrrr

Day 1 That's me I was checking some of the blogs I follow before I got my hiney up from this chair and saw Judy's post at Patchwork Times  how it is the first day of November's quiltathon. Like Judy it came up on me. I am like an ostrich with my head buried. I planned on working on a few things this weekend for a change because you see it's hunting season here and "the man of the place" with be out in the woods and not here. Which means I will be in my sewing room. But I will have to throw in a few other projects that I need to do or started already that are not quilt related. What the heck, I little added spice to the mix. So I'll be back after a while with some progress to show, of what, I'm not sure yet. I have so much do which  makes it harder sometimes to decide what to do first. Especially when you think more than one should be first.

A little Knitting and Crocheting

I wanted to share a couple of the projects that I have been working on, along with the latest book I'm listening to.  I so liked the book The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton that I decided I would try her latest novel. Publisher's Summary England, 1959: Laurel Nicolson is 16 years old, dreaming alone in her childhood tree house during a family celebration at their home, Green Acres Farm. She spies a stranger coming up the long road to the farm and then observes her mother, Dorothy, speaking to him. And then she witnesses a crime. Fifty years later, Laurel is a successful and well-regarded actress, living in London. She returns to Green Acres for Dorothy’s 90th birthday and finds herself overwhelmed by memories and questions she has not thought about for decades. She decides to find out the truth about the events of that summer day and lay to rest her own feelings of guilt. One photograph, of her mother and a woman Laurel has never met, called Vivian, is her f

Ode to the List

I love to make Things to Do Lists . There is something about having a list to remind me of what I need to get to because it is so easy for me to get off track. Plus I use mine to write down things that I want to check on later. But here I write one for me to get done (hopefully) in a week. At least that is my plan, one week. Doesn't always happen thou. Like the last one I posted before I went to California and that was almost a month ago. I did all but 2 of them done. So here is this weeks

What's Up

It has been so long since I've have something to write about I feel out of practice, you know what I mean. My time spending with the "little dudes" was wonderful and I could of said more about that but to be honest I was plum pooped out after helping take care of them. So when I came home I was busy with just getting the house back in order and visiting with our parents.  So now it's time to getting back in the swing of things. I was thinking about how many days left until Christmas and it's 42 days , Jeez Loueez that not that far away. I hope you are doing better than I am.  I started "the little dudes" Christmas stockings a while back and did get one done but haven't been working much on the second one and need to get cracking on it. I want them to be able to have their stockings for their first Christmas even thou they will not be using them this year. This is what it will look like, This is what I have done so far, n

U R Priceless

Oh my,  it's my turn to share the little purses I've made. And a testimony to how easy they are to make. After spending a couple of weeks with this little dude (and his brother) I needed to get busy after getting home Tuesday evening, I had but yesterday afternoon to make my purses. So in a couple hours I was able to get two purses done. Now the direction in the pattern are well done and easy to follow. If I could suggest something to help you when you make one, is if your lining is in the color of thread that you use to attach the mental frame, it makes it less stressful about whether or not the thread show on the inside. I had these napkins that I bought at a flea market for a couple of dollars but they had stains and I had plans to use them on something and this work out perfectly.   So I fussy cut the embroider motif and then used empty space for the sides. Then I use the crochet edging as trim on my little purse. I really like th
