W.W. Three Berry Scones

I have started back on Weight Watcher (which I should of never strayed  from). So I went looking for a Berry recipe other than my smoothie one I make. Came across this one and   knew I had to try it. I have a thing for scones. These scones are good and even got a thumbs up from "the Man of the Place". So good that I had my limit 2 and he had the rest of what was on the plate, 4. Right now I only baked half and froze the other half for another time. It's been said in the comment section that they'll freeze well. You must try, they are moist and tasty and I'll make these again. Three Berry  Scones    They lightened up this typically heavy English treat by using only a fraction of the butter and low-in-fat buttermilk in place of cream. 3 Point Plus value  Serves: 12 Ingredients 2 cup(s) all-purpose flour    3 Tbsp sugar    1 Tbsp baking powder    1/2 tsp table salt    2 Tbsp regular butter, chilled and cut into small pieces

Reading the manual to my new sewing machine, Kenmore 158.1040

I was going to write a quick post on what I am reading/listening to while sewing  and it is in a way. Just not the original thought.  Here it is past noon, half my day over. And I have not sewn one stitch. You see I received a new sewing machine the other day,     it's a Kenmore 158.1040.   So clean, doesn't look like it has been use much. Isn't it beautiful. This is the machine I had when I first started sewing back in 1973. I had gotten rid of the original machine but a friend of mine, Sandi B. had found one at an estate sale and bought it for me. So I decided I was going to try it out on the block for Sisters in Scriptures. Well when I started it up, it was awfully noisy so I decided it probably needed a good oiling. But you see the manual did not come with the machine. That meant I needed to get on the Internet and see if I could locate a free PDF file of the manual, for that I had to check a few sites, but I was able to find one here at a

Weekly Goal

I have not made a post on my weekly goal for a few weeks, it wasn't that I haven't had one for myself, it's just that with the boys coming for a visit and then the show last week I had not written much. My goals for this next week is  1. Finish one of my Git-R-Done's   Sisters in Scriptures 2. Start working on last years taxes 3. Start spring planting  Keeping this short, seeing how I have no last weeks to show. I  could leave it with a picture of the "little dudes"

What came home with me

One thing fun about working the quilt shows is coming home with some new fabric. Except I did not get fabric at the show but on the way at a couple of shops we stopped at. A few fat quarters. You know that means my stash report changed this past week, I added but did not use any. Found some ombre fabric in these wonderful colors. They will work wonderful in appliqueing.      I have this panel already and I was looking for some coordinating fabric so I could sew it up and give it to the "little dudes"    Then another cloth book. They love their cloth books I have made for them. A book on modern mixed quilts. I'm thinking my daughter Laura might like one of the designs.  All I can say is I love Bareroots designs.  These are so cool, I have plan to make them for the boys. I have a lot of thought going through my mind on what fabric color, patterns and how to do their names. This pattern I saw a couple o

What's Up

The first thing that's up is the fact that I'm back home after a long trip down to McAllen TX. The show was nice and I'll post some pics later but right now I have a lot of catching up to do around the house and wanting to do some sewing. Quilt show always inspire me and I need to jump on that while the urge is hot.  I was not able to get the appliqued block prepared like I wanted, so I could work on them while traveling so instead I did a little embroidery work. That means I have don't have those blocks to show. Which means what's up on my wall is the same UFO from last week Sisters in Scriptures That is my quilting goal for the week, complete this one. Back later today with an update and pictures of the quilt show. Till then

What's Up 2-11-13

I have been getting myself back in the groove after having my daughter and her family here last week. The "little dudes" have grown so much in 3 months. They are now crawling and eating solids. BEN BLAKE I do not have a highchair so we feed them on the floor with a sheet under neath to catch all the run off. Can you guess who is the hearty eater. I am counting the days until I can see them again. So to pass the time I am focusing on things around here and working on my  Get - R - Done list is one way.   This is my Sisters in Scriptures 2 quilt. Started 4 years ago and I worked on it a little last year but as you see did not get it finished. This one is my favorite block, represents Elizabeth. I have made Sisters in Scriptures I, and thought I had a picture of it. I'll need to get it out and take one to show. Then I need to prepare the applique blocks for the other quilt on my list,
