What's Up 2.26.19

What's up on my design wall today

I have actually a variety of projects that I am currently working on.
I have My Tree wall hanging up, deciding what is needed to finish next.

I'm working on the embroidery part, details on the birds and the flowers right now.
After I'm done with that then next will be the quilting. This will be hand quilted which I am looking forward to because right now I do not have anything in my hoop that I'm working on.

The other items on the wall is a crocheted Afghan that I started earlier this month. I must have a thing for doing crochet projects that you have to attach to another part to completed the pattern. This one will be circles, which will be attached to each other and then a small triangular piece will be then attached to fill in the space.
Have 6 of which I need 18 blocks completed. It will be all blue and white. Seeing how I had a basket full of blue scrap yarn to work with. This is one of those nice easy projects that I can take to doctor visits.

Then the little triangle blocks are my RSC 19 project.
Right now I have only one of each color completed. I plan on doing more than just one block per month but that's all I have been able to complete so far. Haven't done much sewing lately and if I can get 15 minutes in a day I'm doing wonderful. That's what I have up on the wall right now.

I picked up my sister from California at the airport today. She came out to stay with my parents because my dad has decided that he's going to go ahead with his knee surgery that he's been putting off for while now. So my sister came to help our parents while they both can't get around very well at the moment.
Which will be a great help for me too.
Also looks like we're just gonna have some pretty cool days in the coming week or 2. Hopefully I'll be able to spend more time in my sewing room.
 Will see how that goes
Till later

  2. You've got some beautiful projects in the works. I'll keep both your parents in my prayers, health issues and surgeries are no fun at all. Hope you get in a bit more stitching time with your sister here to help out.

Countdown to Autumn. 18 days

After some thought I came up with a general "get to" list for a pre - Autumn preparation. I had mentioned a couple in the last post. I will keep those and have added a few more. I needed to remind myself that a lot of my ideas are a little premature hance the pre autumn and will be better done next month. So here is what I came up with... Deep cleaning is still on Planning activity for next month Decorating inside and out.   Making a fall outfit, sewing and knitting Find some new recipes to try Make a pair of fall or Halloween socks I will be focus on journaling with Autumn being the present subject.  Making sourdough bread again This one I have already started, Watching a cozy, feel good show. So "the man of the place" and are rewatching PBS All Creatures Great and Small. In a matter of a couple days we have watched season 1. I figure we need to refrain ourselves and keep it down to a couple episodes a night. Today I put a binding on another quilt from the pile. ...

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...
