Just Like a Turtle

I That has been me today.  And you know what, I loved it and did manage to accomplish so much more than I really planned on. The list for To do's was....   Read a little Start another batch of Lime Pickles Put binding on one of the flying geese lap quilts This is the first of the two that I have been working on.  I used the scraps I had leftover from the geese for the binding.  And I was very lucky cause I had just enough to be able to bind the both, in fact I had less than 12" left. It is so nice to get these done and in plenty of time for Christmas. But if you were to look it up it's only 116 days (from today). The last thing was to make something new with zucchini's. I'm doing that now, making a dessert pie but won't know how it turned out till later and I'll share that tomorrow. June Binding Blitz Quilt

I like what Julie is doing on her blog, encourages me to put bindings on a small pile of quilts I have in the spare bedroom.  This quilt was  a round robin I was very lucky to be part of and it was because I'm friends with Pam who owns Sager Creek Quilt shop. And she is a close friend to the others who were part of the group. All very talented designers, published quilters.  Talk about being out of my league, at least that's the way I felt but by the end of this robin, I felt better about my own skills. Still not near theirs tho. The other round robin members were; Pam Goggan Elsie Campbell Donna Lynn Thomas Marilyn McSpadden Talk about a lot of talent. Thank you ladies Well back to my quilt Pam Goggans did the quilting and it is spectacular I had fun playing around with the special effects on the photos This picture is my representation of Christmas in July I hope the info I shared on Sunday helped. I know the techn...

Binding Finish

Yeah, I finished the binding just in the nick of time. I wanted to be able to have anoher one on my list to be completed and checked off. I was able to make this completely from scraps I had, what a great feeling to know that I use up somthing that could of been tossed. I used the Creative Grid Curvy Log Cabin ruler, I know that it can be done without it but I had it and like how easy and prefect the blocks work up.  The quilt is 90 x 75 Hobbs 80/20 cotton batt and was professional machine quilted on a longarm Gammill using the Methodist Fan Pattern Beside Bob my cat, Elmo and Grover had to inspect my work.
