Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

I got back last night after 3 weeks away  babysitting my grandsons. Before I get into that I want to thank my friends for sticking with me after being away. Thank you. I didn't post while there in California cause like many Grandparents I could of bombard you with pictures of the little dudes. But I will share this one of them in their Halloween costumes. They were part of the Paw Patrol, and ready to go trick or treating. We had so much fun. I spent part of my day unpacking and taking my sweet time doing it. Napped some and then spent the afternoon harvesting what was left in the garden that needed to be picked before the killing freeze (20's) tonight. I harvested lettuce, beets, turnips, sweet potatoes, potatoes, green peas, radishes and a few carrots. Wishing you all the best for this new year. One of my resolutions is to reestablish my passion I have had for blogging. So everyday this month I am devoting some time to my blog.  Whether it's posting, planning or cleaning up my blog. So today I am going to spend some time cleaning up some the old stuff I have on the side bars. I am devoted to remaining to be an ad free blogger. I'm hoping you are to able to start on your resolutions too, if you made any. 

Tell me it's not true I saw this on Facebook so I had to do the math. It's not correct. There 26 weeks till Christmas and according to the site  Your Christmas Countdown , thats 187 days. Just shows you that you can't believe everything that is posted. Or was that part of the meaning to this. Scary part is that half the year till Chrsitmas has past. So we have 6 months to get our presents made.

It's my birthday today and as the years have added on, I look at my birthday more as the beginning of a new year then just a day to celebrate my birthday. So as I sit and write this I can only think back over my last year and what direction I hope to see myself in a year from now.  The start of a new year makes me excited about what I can accomplish and the experiences that will happen.  And here in the United States the majority of us have been dealing with a cold long winter, myself included.  Boy am I ready for spring and starting this years growing season. One of my excitements for this new year is to expand my garden space. I want to start my kitchen garden / potager. This is a postcard I pick-up at a 24/7 in Hays, Kansas.. I figure that since I wasn't able to get a good photo of those fields of sunflowers in Kansas, this was second best. Except the ones in the field did not have their sunglasses on like these guys Way too cool
