What's Up 2.6.17

Up on the wall today was Words To Live By. When I put it away before Christmas had 2 side of the outer broader and part of the third completed.  Once I get all these HST sewn together that's pretty much it. As I was putting the HST up on the wall I realize that there wouldn't be enough. I was 32 short. Not sure how that happen but seeing how there was over 300, I must've missed counted. I do also need to write my name and date on one of the corner blocks.    This morning is what I woke up to... Bob found a roll of toilet paper and enjoy tearing it up. What a mess but he is so cute. posted this sunday Now while looking I came across a BOM I had purchased 17 years ago. Never did start it. At the time I thought it was cute but now I just do not want to make anymore.  So I want to sell it. At the time it was $10.00 a month. But know I can not get what I payed for it and that's OK

What's Up 10.25.16

I have been so busy the past two days, that I have a variety of things to share. First of all whats up on the design wall. I'm making a crib size quilt and with the small jelly roll I had it was perfect for these 4 set of Seven Sisters. I have as I write this 2 of the 4 ready to put the sections together. The other 2. I have the units made as you can see but will be sewing them into sections.   There are 6 sections I also been sewing another section of the HST border for the Words to Live By  Had put this second for a few weeks now, plugging along. "The Man of The Place" did get the Christmas boxes down  for me and yesterday I just checked them all to see if there was any mice damage. Just a couple items, almost all good. I will sort what I want to keep or past on as I decorate. Did also clean out the chicken coop and the pullets pen. Now the girls are good to go for a few.  Today I wanted to send the "Little Dudes&qu

I love Sundays

Sundays have always been a day of rest since I was a kid but not all Sundays can we rest.  Today was one of rest and it was nice to just take time to think and reflect. I can do that when I do mindless sewing and that is what I was doing today. In the Words to Live By quilt I did what the directions said but for some reason I did not have enough black and tan HST. Fixed up another 80 HST, sewn and trimmed them today. Now I'm ready to finish the boarders now. While doing that I was looking around the room and thinking about what I wanted to put back in here and where. Notice the shelf with a little fabric on it that hadn't been wrapped around the boards I have. Took a little time to do about half of the stack.  I wrap only pieces that are larger than 1/2 yard and up to 4 yds. If they are 4 yards or more I use the boards they use at quilts shops. They will give them to you if ask, otherwise they just trash them.  Wh

This week happenings

Looks like I've done it again, a whole week has passed without one day of writing. I have been trying to break this one bad habit for a while now, among many other bad habits I have also. Focusing has been an issue with me the past year. In fact I made that my word for the year last year, and I tried very hard to stay on track. Well that's and along with my energy deflating, plus the past few months I've been having anxiety attacks and bouts of despair and such during the day. So I finally went to the dr. and we had the talk about hormones and menopause. She has me on a natural HRT right now. They say it can be 4 to 6 weeks before I see changes and I have to say I've seen good improvement in my moods. My hair loss and other things I haven't noticed too much change, but it's only been a few weeks now. I'm hoping that it will help with my focusing too. I know part of it is a bad habit that has been created from this past year. So enough  about menopau

Friday Finishes

I have been busy but not at sewing the past week Was able to make a few blocks of the Retro Air-Ship Propeller. If you hadn't read all about earlier this month about how Karen and I are both making. You can see the post here about the pattern and how to get free copy or one to purchase. I can add here that after writing that post, Deb at Frugal Little Bungalow  decided she was going to join in the fun. I think that is wonderful and I think the more the merrier. Well started out with this block Now my thoughts were this was going to be a good pattern to use up some of the fat quarters and scraps. Which is what I'm going to do, Here are the two we decided we would make for the month. But if know anything about me I sometimes can just stop when I find a good idea.  This is a 1930's pattern and I do have a large collections of 30's reproduction fabric. Which was obvious when it came to moving it out of the sewing room. Came across a tub o
