Hand Quilt Blog Hop

http://celebratehandquilting.blogspot.com/ I am excited about this blog hop, anytime when there is hand quilting involved, I just get tickled pink. So my quilt I want to share is my blue and white Rocky Road. T his one is what I call a true scrap quilt because the blue fabric is from  clothing that I made for my girls when they were little.   And my oldest daughter will be 40 next month so a good portion of it is not all 100% cotton, mostly blends.   I have so much fun looking at the fabric and remembering what I made.  I am using blue Coats and Clark quilting thread. It is a twin size quilt with Mountain Mist Country Rose Cotton batting. I'm about 3/4 done. I do a majority of my quilting in a hoop and as you can see I am on this one.   I had a few blocks leftover so I decided to use them on the back.  It almost looks like a whole another quilt. I want to thank you for stopping by and letting

Hand Quilting Blog Hop

I know I have been absent the past few days and this is why Grandma has been keeping very busy watching them for my daughter. I have been wanting to post some things I had planned before I came here but just haven't had the time or energy. Over at Celebrate Hand Quilting   There is a Blog Hop just dedicated to hand quilting It is already day 4 but you can still go back and view the previous days. I'll be posting something on Saturday for the hop. Hope you come back and see what I have been quilting on.

I have a lot of bird related patterns, especially ones that are chickens This quilt I made last year from a pattern in Quiltmania. Then here are a few more patterns I had and thought about doing. But time wasn't on my side for a big project.  You see I'm going to see "the little dudes" next week, it's their first birthday. Blake and Ben, my "little dudes" Can't believe it's been a year already. OK back to topic here.  A couple of years ago while at the Dallas Quilt show I purchased this pincushion.   I thought it was interesting but what I really wanted was the pattern. It came from a shop in Texas,

It's my day for Nancy Drew

You'll notice that I'm down to earth and like things that are useful so it would be no surprise that what I came up with is something useful. I had notice that past participance had made book bags, eye glass cases, pouches, kindle cases, etc. but I do not believe that I had seen  any hardcover book cover.  I know it's nothing fancy... But I thought it was pretty practical seeing ho
