Let's Catch Up Some

I'm back. I thought I would share some more.  Like I said last time, seeing how it's been so long I have a lot to share..... Past and Present I should start with the finishes, and the quilt shown last week that was getting the binding sewn on, is now done and ready to display next month.    The pattern is Hocus Pocus and I used a jelly roll and layer cake for the pumpkins. Did add some scrap green I had and for the background I used my favorite Kona Snow. I like it because it reads white but it's not a true white so it's not as stark.  The quilting on this has vines and leaves like a pumpkin but  does not have pumpkins, but I think I like it all the same. Now I have to figure the next quilt to add binding to. Have a stack of quilted quilts needing their binding. I'll will share more about that next time, back to now. The next two finishes I hadn't shown yet. I always like to have a "to go" project to take with me whether it's an appointment, a driv

Been Awhile

I find it really hard to believe that it's been a year since I last posted. I knew it's been a while, but a year just seems mind blowing, I've done a lot of creating during this past year and just everyday living, which is too much to share it all. Can say that I'm going to just start where I am at now.   I replace my laptop this past year.  I had a perfectly good Mac, but I just couldn't get use to how its functions were so different from Windows.  So gave it to one of my daughters and purchased a new laptop that runs on windows. It feels like working with an old friend.  Can't promise but I feel like I could get back in the habit of writing again. So what will I start with. Well.... currently I have been putting the binding on a quilt that I had finished this past year and trying to get ready to display it for this fall. This pattern is called Hocus Pocus by Margot Languedoc Designs. It is 52" x 65.5" which is perfect for me to display on my Livingro

August Finishes

Here we are again, another month that seem to just fly by. Its amazing considering we all seem to suffer one way or another from the weather. Here in NE Oklahoma it was extreme heat and humidity. A good thing because of it I was inside a lot, which meant I was keeping myself busy with projects. Was pretty successful too. This is going to be a picture heavy post. I'll start with the one that I had been working on the past few months the Spring Fling Shop Hop from 2015. It turned out so pretty, and next its off to the quilter.   I love how the shops had fabric made just for them, naming the towns and the state. I have also slowly been going through boxes in the garage. and in one of them I found the top I made back in 2012. It was one of Bonnie Hunters mystery quilts, Easy Street.  I didn't have it quilted at the time because I just thought it wasn't complete so I put it away. Well I saw it and realized what was missing, a boarder. It's the only one of her mysteries I hav

Socks in all stages

I had started this post yesterday with the thought of doing it on the gardening. That has mainly what I’ve been up to these past couple weeks.  But then I went into the studio because I was going to work on getting the snowman wallhanging finished (spoiler alert: didn’t) ……Well I got sidetracked. I had this organizing bug hit me and I started cleaning up the studio and came across a bunch of knitted WIP’s. So then I thought, I’m going to share my WIP’s because I believe a lot of us have the same issue. Which I definitely have. That is too start a project and not finish it by before I start a new one.  So I took a picture of the basket with all my sock WIP’s.  Now mind you this is only my socks. I have many other whips that I am not including because I’m categorizing my projects. So here are the WIP’s I have in the basket.  ALL 9 OF THEM  Now these WIP’s come in all stages.  From the planning stage to being almost completed, like needing the toes sewn together. This pair of socks is a
