A wonderful retreat

This past weekend I spent four glorious day at Roaring River Resort near Cassville Missouri. It was wonderful and you couldn't ask for a greater group to be with, plus the fact of four days of sewing. Here packed and ready.... And I have to admit I had a big ambitions. I took three sewing projects and some handwork. I was able to complete two of the machine projects and get a good start on the 3rd... did do a little  Handwork My biggest achievement was......  drum roll please....  I finish #4 Ruby Garden, mine.  I am now done with all of the Ruby Gardens I am going to make. I'm going to take a picture of the four of them and how I try to make each in the personality of the recipient later today Then I was able to get caught up on May, June and July block for the rainbow scrap. Now it's on to August which is indigo  I had hoped that I could finish my string quilt that I had started a number of years ago....

#3 is Finished

Well I did it, #3 Ruby's Garden if done. I really like how it looks with those muted colors and that splash of some very muted lavender Now it's onto the last one, mine..... I have the fabric picked out and now time to start cutting. And last night I finished block five of "Words to Live By".  There is 12 of the smaller blocks that surround a larger block in the center.  I'm thinking about maybe making all those HST  leader & enders. That way I'm not trying to get them all made at one time, I can spread out the joy .. Seeing how it will be awhile before I'm ready to assemble anyway.

What's up

What's on the wall this morning is all the blocks for #3 Ruby Garden Quilt, I really like how the muted colors turned out on this one.  I hope to get all the blocks sewn together and get that one off the wall so I can start working on # 4, I know I haven't written much this past week but I have been busy. I did finish appliqueing a block for "Words to Live By"  and I'm almost done with another. I have been doing a little quilting on my 30's Sampler this week also. I've been doing a little catch-up also on my RSC15.  I'm about halfway done with the red which is this month  but I still need to catch up on May and June Today is my dad's 83rd birthday, and yesterday we had just a small gathering at mom and dads house to celebrate, so I hadn't done much over the weekend. And update on Bob.  He was able to come home from the Vet Saturday so I drove to Stillwater...

Ruby #2 is Done

YEAH !! #2 is done. I've been mixing up fabric for the next one but still haven't came to a decision. So seeing how I'm not ready for #3.... I had to start the Twisted Blossom    I have all the units made for the first block but ran out of time. Needed to stop and make dinner but this is what it looks like so far I'm liking it. Now this is only about half of the prints and I might wait to assemble until I have a unit of all the choices of prints to pick from. Or maybe not. Going to make this a short one cause I want to spend a little time this evening quilting some on the 30's Sampler
