It’s October 2

This morning we received the most welcome rain in a while. I think it’s been at least two or three weeks since we’ve had a drop of rain. So this morning while sitting on the porch having my coffee we were able to enjoy the rain.  I’ve been able to keep up my morning routine during my cancer journey, which is to get my planner/journal and write about anything that crosses my mind in it and then also plan what I hope to get done today. I also have a daily reading that I will do and this year I have been reading The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday.    I understand he has a new book out which I need to look up, and see if it’s something I’m interested in reading. So far Stoicism I can relate to as far as a philosophy and I’m curious to know whether or not his new book elaborate more on it.  Normally after my time of reflection and planning I will start my exercises which usually starts with a warm-up of a bike ride. I’ve been doing a mile and keeping it at a mile just for the reason that I am

Cat Play Box

I had never seen this before and was post by someone on facebook and thought this was a cheap, fast and easy idea for the cats.  And here I am knitting a cat cocoon which is pretty much the same idea. I have to say that the T-Shirt cube is way so fast.  Maybe the cats will like the cocoon better, won't know till I finally finish it. So here is what you need; 1 large T-Shirt (easier with a large one) A box the size of a milkcrate or little bigger (not too big that your shirt won't stretch  around) That's it!!! You'll stretch the shirt around the opening of the box,  making sure the neck opening is centered in the opening of the box. Next is to tie the best you can in the back of box the T-Shirt. If your box is bigger and if you can not get enough to tie, I pinned with a big safety pin the extra shirt closed. Then the sleeves are tuck back into the armhole like so. Now That's

What a Feathered Surprise

This morning I went out to the back porch to get a few pieces of wood to put in the stove. We heat our home only by the wood stove that we have in the living room. So during the winter it is a chore I do hundreds of times. Since it was the first time this morning that I had gone outside the cats, Pete and Buddy made a mad dash out the door. I was grabbing a piece of wood when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye, Buddy had spotted a chickadee and scared it. In its panic it flew into the house because I had the backdoor open. Poor little thing, it was scared and was flying around the living room. Very poor picture,( iPhone) Needless to say this had the cats all excited, running around following the bird. I was dumb founded on what to do. I left the door open hoping it would just fly right back out. No, it was confused and would keep flying in circles and landing wherever possible. One time it landed way to close to where the cats could make a jump at it, s
