May 22nd through the 28th

The beauty of spring Tulips at Utica Square, Tulsa Oklahoma This week has been a busy one. But that’s the way I like it..... part of the time.  Monday we had business in Tulsa that took most of the day. We did get to go out and eat which was a bonus. Other than that it was pretty much just  a full day of just taking care of stuff. Was going to go to Costco, but my hip was bothering me so we put it off.  Tuesday I didn’t have to go anywhere other than I needed to get to the store and the post office which I’m glad I did because I purchased two of the last ferns I needed for the front porch and I got some happy mail.    I had ordered some yarn, like I really need anymore, but this was in cotton or cotton linen blends. Something I don’t have any of other than that to make wash cloths out of. I figured I was going to try a few different brands and see which ones I like the best for summer tops. This box here came from knit picks.   Otherwise, most of my day consisted of cleaning. But I w

Socks in all stages

I had started this post yesterday with the thought of doing it on the gardening. That has mainly what I’ve been up to these past couple weeks.  But then I went into the studio because I was going to work on getting the snowman wallhanging finished (spoiler alert: didn’t) ……Well I got sidetracked. That is too start a project and not finish it by before I start a new one.  So I took a picture of the basket with all my sock WIP’s.  Now mind you this is only my socks. I have many other whips that I am not including because I’m categorizing my projects. So here are the WIP’s I have in the basket.  ALL 9 OF THEM  Now these WIP’s come in all stages.  From the planning stage to being almost completed, like needing the toes sewn together. This pair of socks is a

Sewing shares

I am so out of the habit of writing it has become quite a challenge. Example is this post, started this back in March. I find that fact so sad and need to figure out ways to “just do it”  Now it’s just doing it     I said, I would show some of the stuff that I have been working on the past couple of months, at least. I thought I would start with sewing, these are the ones I have been working on. Have a little quilting, an apron, something that I used fabric to make, a basket, but I did not sew that one on the machine.  I had attached some binding to a quilt that my stepmother had started, and I finished.  Then there was some receiving blankets that I had started. Oh my gosh, I would have to say at least five years ago maybe longer . So let me start off I will start off with the oldest and that is the receiving blankets. They’re made out of flannel, of course. It’s not necessarily though, you could make them out of cotton or that gauze that was popular. I made mine out of flannel becaus
