Been Awhile

I find it really hard to believe that it's been a year since I last posted. I knew it's been a while, but a year just seems mind blowing,

I've done a lot of creating during this past year and just everyday living, which is too much to share it all.

Can say that I'm going to just start where I am at now.

I replace my laptop this past year.  I had a perfectly good Mac, but I just couldn't get use to how its functions were so different from Windows.  So gave it to one of my daughters and purchased a new laptop that runs on windows. It feels like working with an old friend.  Can't promise but I feel like I could get back in the habit of writing again.

So what will I start with. Well.... currently I have been putting the binding on a quilt that I had finished this past year and trying to get ready to display it for this fall.

This pattern is called Hocus Pocus by Margot Languedoc Designs.

It is 52" x 65.5" which is perfect for me to display on my Livingroom wall.

Like everywhere, it's been a hot summer, and I am so ready for cooler weather.

This quilt pattern gives me the fall vibes.

Also been knitting a lot this past year and wish I had taken more pictures than I had.

Many items were gifts but did keep some and I will start taking photos so I can share my thoughts and patterns.

This is another fall vibe make that I had started a few years back and brought it out to finish for the upcoming cooler weather.

It's the Magnolia Cardigan by Camilla Vad

I'm very close to being done

As you can see I'm down to the ribbing at the bottom and button band, along with sleeves. So excited to get this one finished.

Have another cardigan in the WIP pile that is also very close to being done. I'll get that one out next to work on..... I'll show that one next time.
It's called Pop Life Cardigan.

I did purchased the kit from Wool and the Gang.

Well I think I'll end here and it feels so good to have something to share with you. I have been missing this blogging community.

Till next time SOON!!!!

Welcome friends to share a thought, I enjoy reading them and will try my best to reply back by email most of the time. But if you do not hear back it's because you are a no-reply blogger.

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...

Countdown to Autumn. 18 days

After some thought I came up with a general "get to" list for a pre - Autumn preparation. I had mentioned a couple in the last post. I will keep those and have added a few more. I needed to remind myself that a lot of my ideas are a little premature hance the pre autumn and will be better done next month. So here is what I came up with... Deep cleaning is still on Planning activity for next month Decorating inside and out.   Making a fall outfit, sewing and knitting Find some new recipes to try Make a pair of fall or Halloween socks I will be focus on journaling with Autumn being the present subject.  Making sourdough bread again This one I have already started, Watching a cozy, feel good show. So "the man of the place" and are rewatching PBS All Creatures Great and Small. In a matter of a couple days we have watched season 1. I figure we need to refrain ourselves and keep it down to a couple episodes a night. Today I put a binding on another quilt from the pile. ...

Yarn Along 2/20/13 Spoon Pin Doily

It's snowing here and I know some of you are tired of snow but here we will take the moisture any way we can get it. Plus it just gives me a reason to stay in and work on some of my projects. In this picture I'm not sure if you can make it out but in the background there are some wild turkeys that hang around the house sometime, just  chilling This project I'm working on is Spool Pin Doilies.   I had never heard of them before until Bonnie Hunter had mentioned it on her blog . She a had a viewer send her one for her sewing machine along with a pattern. I did not like the pattern but loved the idea so I decided to make up my own version. I wanted a more simple, smaller and fuller doily. So I tried different thread sizes to get one that I like. (From left to right) I tried sock yarn, which I'll redo because I think I like that look. Heavy weight crochet thread, nope too big Bamboo yarn, I like it. Looks good on my Kenmore. Pearl c...
