Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

  After some thought I came up with a general "get to" list for a pre - Autumn preparation. I had mentioned a couple in the last post. I will keep those and have added a few more. I needed to remind myself that a lot of my ideas are a little premature hance the pre autumn and will be better done next month. So here is what I came up with... Deep cleaning is still on Planning activity for next month Decorating inside and out.   Making a fall outfit, sewing and knitting Find some new recipes to try Make a pair of fall or Halloween socks I will be focus on journaling with Autumn being the present subject.  Making sourdough bread again This one I have already started, Watching a cozy, feel good show. So "the man of the place" and are rewatching PBS All Creatures Great and Small. In a matter of a couple days we have watched season 1. I figure we need to refrain ourselves and keep it down to a couple episodes a night. Today I put a binding on another quilt from the pile.

  This morning when I woke it was like a new thought (which of course it wasn't) but the feeling was all the same though......... There are twenty days remaining until the beginning of fall, which is marked by the autumnal equinox and falls on September 22, 2024. This is calculated from today's date, which is September 2, 2024. This fall lasts 88 days and ends on December 20, 2024. Autumn arrives this month.....  WHAT!!    I want to start preparing. You see here in Oklahoma we will have to wait till next month for those cooler days. September is a transition month. Today what we are feeling outside is a little of what to expect by the end of month. Very pleasant temperature with no humidity.... LOVING IT. But it won't last, we'll have days of summer and than days of pre-autumn. Anyway for me, I seem to be envelop in being ready to fully enjoy Autumn, with mindfulness. My thought is to slowly prepare these next few weeks (which I will share more as clarify my intentions)

I'm back. I thought I would share some more.  Like I said last time, seeing how it's been so long I have a lot to share..... Past and Present I should start with the finishes, and the quilt shown last week that was getting the binding sewn on, is now done and ready to display next month.    The pattern is Hocus Pocus and I used a jelly roll and layer cake for the pumpkins. Did add some scrap green I had and for the background I used my favorite Kona Snow. I like it because it reads white but it's not a true white so it's not as stark.  The quilting on this has vines and leaves like a pumpkin but  does not have pumpkins, but I think I like it all the same. Now I have to figure the next quilt to add binding to. Have a stack of quilted quilts needing their binding. I'll will share more about that next time, back to now. The next two finishes I hadn't shown yet. I always like to have a "to go" project to take with me whether it's an appointment, a driv
