Ode to the List

I love to make Things to Do Lists . There is something about having a list to remind me of what I need to get to because it is so easy for me to get off track. Plus I use mine to write down things that I want to check on later. But here I write one for me to get done (hopefully) in a week. At least that is my plan, one week. Doesn't always happen thou. Like the last one I posted before I went to California and that was almost a month ago. I did all but 2 of them done. So here is this weeks

What's Up

It has been so long since I've have something to write about I feel out of practice, you know what I mean. My time spending with the "little dudes" was wonderful and I could of said more about that but to be honest I was plum pooped out after helping take care of them. So when I came home I was busy with just getting the house back in order and visiting with our parents.  So now it's time to getting back in the swing of things. I was thinking about how many days left until Christmas and it's 42 days , Jeez Loueez that not that far away. I hope you are doing better than I am.  I started "the little dudes" Christmas stockings a while back and did get one done but haven't been working much on the second one and need to get cracking on it. I want them to be able to have their stockings for their first Christmas even thou they will not be using them this year. This is what it will look like, This is what I have done so far, n

U R Priceless

Oh my,  it's my turn to share the little purses I've made. And a testimony to how easy they are to make. After spending a couple of weeks with this little dude (and his brother) I needed to get busy after getting home Tuesday evening, I had but yesterday afternoon to make my purses. So in a couple hours I was able to get two purses done. Now the direction in the pattern are well done and easy to follow. If I could suggest something to help you when you make one, is if your lining is in the color of thread that you use to attach the mental frame, it makes it less stressful about whether or not the thread show on the inside. I had these napkins that I bought at a flea market for a couple of dollars but they had stains and I had plans to use them on something and this work out perfectly.   So I fussy cut the embroider motif and then used empty space for the sides. Then I use the crochet edging as trim on my little purse. I really like th

What's Up Monday

It's hard to believe it is Monday already, "the Man of the Place" was home on vacation last week and we were able to get away for a few days but like many vacations it goes by too quickly. We went to the Civil War battle site Shiloh in Tennessee.  It is an amazing park with so much to see and learn. If you haven't been there you ought to look it up and see if that is something you to might be interested in. We wish we had bicycles because the park is so big and there is a self guided tour around the site you drive but bikes would of  been a fun way.  So what am I going to try to work on this week;  things for the boys. Have one of the little dogs completed and still need to put the other one together    Do you notice that one is bigger than the other, I guess I relaxed some on the second one because my stitches are slightly larger. Then I had bought these flannel panels a while back to make for the " little dudes".

What's New

I wanted to share a couple of new things that I found. One is this blog hop about Jill Finley's new book. What little I have seen so far it look like a nice book. http://jillilystudio.blogspot.com/p/blook-tour.html Then on Pinterest I saw this recipe for Peanut Butter Popcorn. I am a big fan of popcorn and I like to try new ways when I come across them. I made it tonight and this one is good. Their picture looked better than mine, so I'm taking liberties and using this one. You'll find this one and more at  http://www.thekitchn.com/ Peanut Butter Popcorn makes about 8 cups 1/4 cup popcorn kernels Vegetable oil Fine salt 1/2 cup honey 1/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup peanut butter (should be free of added sugar) 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Have a clean paper shopping bag or oversized mixing bowl ready. Heat a 4-quart heavy pan over medium heat and film the bottom with vegetable oil. When the oil is hot but not smoking, add the popcorn, shake to distribut
