Blogtober; two for one 13 &14

I apologize for not writing yesterday but absolutely nothing of interest happened yesterday. I had physical therapy in the morning and then went to Costco after that in the afternoon. Came home, took a nap, cook dinner and went to bed early. That was pretty much my day yesterday so I didn’t feel like writing about that. But today was a whole different day. Early this morning I had an appointment with another type a therapist that was going to check my right leg. I have been having some swelling in my whole leg. The physical therapist I've been going to said it was edema and that I needed to have it checked out. So that’s what I did this morning. Yes I do have a lymphedema and have a 7% increase in size between my right and my left leg, which is not too bad. The course of action is to wear compression leggings and also do some form of massage to help get the fluid back up. So that’s all good.   Since  I got home at a decent time,  I was able to do some cleaning and then work on a

Blogtober Day 12 is boring

I have very little to share today. Today did not go as I hoped. Started out where it took half the morning to try to submit an application for SSI online, which was unsuccessful. Then after that I accompanied “the man of the place” to go purchase a truck. That took another 3 hours. Now most of the day is gone. The only thing I can share that not boring from today is the crochet Christmas Blanket. I’ve started the edging   Till tomorrow  Kat

Blogtober Monday the 11th

This morning I had physical therapy which went really well. The therapist added a couple more exercises for me to include. It never fails also that when I go to Tulsa for an appointment or something, I end up there half the day. Same for today, I left at 9:30 did not get home till 2:30. While in Tulsa after therapy I went by Whole Foods, picked up some prescriptions at the pharmacy and then on the way home went by Walmart. I needed some white yarn for the Christmas Afghan that I’m crocheting. I thought I had enough of it.  I bought one of those great big value skeins of the acrylic red heart yarn but nope, used it all.  And I still have the outer edging to do which takes white also. What a pretty edging. Can't  wait to work on it. I rested for a little while when I got home. I was tired, seems like these days I’m still getting tired but it's getting better. Then this afternoon I worked on my mitt that I making for myself. I started the second one.  Then made dinner and tonight

Blogtober Day 10

Today was our anniversary and we thought we go to a place called Woolaroc which is about 90 miles northwest of us.  We had read that there was supposed to be a Cowboy Shooting demonstration with period pieces. Here is a little information about the place that I looked up  Founded in 1925 by oilman Frank Phillips, Woolaroc is a 3,700 acre working ranch that has a 50,000 square foot museum with a collection described by Christie’s of New York as “one of the finest collections of southwest art in the world” along with the original Lodge home and a large herd of bison, elk, longhorn cattle, scotch highland cattle and hundreds of deer. Woolaroc museum hosts an outstanding collection of western art and artifacts, Native American material, and one of the finest collections of Colt firearms in the world. The name WOOLAROC is derived from three words—the woods, lakes and rocks that make up the beautiful Osage Hills of northeast Oklahoma where Woolaroc is located."    Here are some pictures

Blogtober Day 9

Have you ever woke up tired? That was me this morning, heck it took me half the day before I felt awake.  While in my walking fog I managed to clean some and locate what little Halloween decorations I have. Here is the finished embroidered piece I did a couple years ago. And the kitty pumpkin four years ago.  I’ve only started making Halloween decorations these past few years.  The kitty pumpkin is my favorite. We have had another warm spell, still with temps in the 90’s . I am so tired of summer temperatures, but my tomatoes are not.  They were about to be pulled out a few weeks ago but with this heat wave they have been rejuvenated. They still look a little on the poor side but there are a lot blossoms and fruits on the plants now. Now we’ll see if any will ripen on the vine.  While outside looking for a branch. (I have a project in mine but I’ll save that for another day.) Anyway while outside I notice the walnuts are dropping. We have a lot of walnut trees on our property. I had

Blogtober; slow day 8

I guess I’m a little warned out from a busy week. Plus Wednesday the physical therapist added 6 more exercises. Boy it now takes twice as long.  I did get a little sewing done on the Hocus Pocus  quilt  Next thing I need to do is the stems for the pumpkins. Starting to look like a quilt. So cute. After dinner worked a little on clipping the binding on the Pea Ridge Lily quilt   I didn’t feel like sewing so I picked up my needles to do a little more on the mitt.

Blogtober Day 7

The mug rugs are dry now and I trimmed up any loose yarn ends and they are so cute. What do you think? Today I spent at least six hours either driving or in Tulsa again today.  Foggy out this morning. Very pretty My father had an eye appointment so I had to go to his house pick him up and then take him to Tulsa where the appointment was. Then we went and had something to eat. I found it a very enjoyable day I haven’t spent time with my dad since we went to California in August. His eyes are fine, nothings changed in the past six months. My father has age related macular degeneration disease Which means he gets his eyes checked often, at least every six months sometimes three months. When I got home today I ended up taking a nap. I was tired after the past two days. While waiting for my dad I took my knitting with me. I started the new mitts and I do like the yarn, I just wish it was 100% wool but it’s a blend and seeing how this is my first time using this pattern I’m OK with it. If I
