Day 13 My Christmas "Chicken" Tree

Blogmas 2021 My "Chicken" Tree  I had made all this last year for Christmas and to be in full disclosure, I haven't taken it down. It stayed up in the corner of the living room all year. That is how much I love it Update here 12-13-21 I wrote those words and this post 9 years ago on this day. And that tree has remained up the whole time except a few years ago I changed the tree to a aluminum one. You will see the original pictures of the tree. Except the first one and this next one.  I had found a crochet pattern on Ravelry for these rooster ornament . I ended up only making one a rooster (love machine) and the rest to be my flock I have     If you leave off the tail feathers they look like hens.  So I made them to look like my flock of girls. Then I added these fake eggs I found at Hobby Lobby, except the ones in the wooden box at the bottom of the tree, they are real.  I put the rooster at the top, looking over his hens.

Day 12; weaving and that knittIng

Today is the 3rd Sunday of Advent How was your Sunday? Mine was quiet and relaxing. Watched some Vlogmas podcasts while knitting. And it was some of the knitting I mentioned in yesterdays title which I totally neglected to show. Now I will……. Progress on my Advent knit 🧶  Full of Minis Hat. The grey is from my stash and not last year’s advent minis  I needed a darker contrasting color, which did make the folded stitch easier to do. So if you do make this hat, do make sure you have contrasting colors like the instruction say. Now for a new start, which is another hat, what else…. This is for my other grandson. Again using some acrylic yarn. Then this afternoon I put on the warp for some new coaster on the loom. I had plenty of help this time. As you see, plenty of help.  The blue ball is to help keep the loom from moving. And then the help distracted me that I missed a slot and did not noticed it until I was wrapping up the warp. This time is was a fairly easy fix, this time… This is

Day 11, mask making and more knitting

Happy Blogmas I am so wanting some colder temperatures   These 70’s in the middle of December seems so wrong.   Well today I spent sewing on some new face masks for my youngest daughter and myself. My daughter works at an animal diagnostic lab for the State/federal government. They wore masks before Covid so it’s not a change for her. I made ones this time in Christmas fabric. Been meaning to get these finished last week but I’m a little behind schedule. I had made her 3 others a couple weeks ago. These are the ones I made for myself I like this pattern out of the other ones I’ve tried. Fit’s without slipping down and room to speak and breathe easily. Just realize how this could pass as a mug shot……LOL They are comfortable.  I found it on YouTube, I think the channel was called Japanese Sewing Book, free pattern for a 3D masks. Seeing how the virus is still around, I wear one indoor around crowds. I am due for my booster soon but I believe in being careful. Here is todays mini and no

Day 10…..missed 9

This is my only tree this year   Missed yesterday, I had a busy day away from the house and was too tired last night to write.  Yesterday I needed to go to Tulsa for a follow up appointment, then go home to pick up “the man of the place” to go to Fayetteville to pick up the new car.  I haven’t yet taken a picture of the new one but here is on of me saying good bye I drove so many trips to California I lost track, good car which had 150,000 miles   Want to hear a funny 😄 🤪 😂 The last time I’ve bought a vehicle was 10 years ago, so it has been a while. Too long I guess because I totally did not give a thought to what to take with me….. Like maybe the title or the registration. They were professional and told me no problem. Mailed them off this morning.   Here are todays and yesterdays advent yarn and in the basket is the first  8 days  Short one tonight Till tomorrow  Kat

Blogmas; day 8

On this day 46 years ago I gave birth to my second daughter.  So this day is a little special to me.  Unfortunately she live 1200 miles away to be able to celebrate with her.  But I have talked her a couple times already and she is having a good day.  My day has been a good one too.  Had physical therapy this morning and had my evaluation which was decided that seeing how I have made good progress, that today would be my last day until if in the future I feel I need to return.   Then when I got home I had a wonderful message. My car is ready to be picked up. So tomorrow we will go to the dealership. An Early Christmas present.   So I have been beside myself  this evening.    Had thought about putting up a Christmas tree but because of these tw I’ve decided not to.  They look so sweet but I’ll tell you looks can be deceiving. I have been dealing with their mischief since we adopted them in July.  In fact just the other day they were being kittens and knocked over another plant.  All 3

Blogmas; 18 days till Christmas

Wow…. Only 18 days till Christmas  Time is just going by so quickly.  I have gifts to finish and get in the mail.  When thinking about what I need to get finished I realize its all hats I have on my needles.                      I have 3 hats…. Plus need to make another one for my other grandson.  The one I started I had to frog some because I wasn’t paying attention and went to far.  Getting closer to being done…. Then there is my advent knit I think I’ve figured out the fold and knit stitch.  As much as I’m enjoying this pattern now I have to focus on the gifts first.  Then there is the hat I’m not sure who it is for. The yarn I’m using is some that I dyed myself. I used yellow onion skins. Makes such a gorgeous yellow. Love the color. I can see a cardigan made in this color. I even have a pattern picked out but it will have to be a new year start.  This is today’s Advent gift This mini is my favorite so far.  Beautiful  Well I can’t think of anything else. It’s a little late and I

Monday Day 6 of Blogmas

Blogmas 2021 It’s Monday and sure felt like it.  I just wanted to stay home and keep busy here. But I had PT this morning, next week are my last scheduled appointments.  I know it has helped but I’m ready for a break from driving to Tulsa twice a week. I’ll keep doing at home what I’ve learned. This is today’s advent gift.  Loving the earthy colors so far this year. Hope it continues.  Sherry Iris has really done a beautiful job on these minis.    I thought I would share what I’m reading. I had read some of the stories back a couple years ago and I still have more stories to finish. I just love mysteries.  Seeing how all I have done today had to do with taking care of business I thought I would share a past Christmas post. I started my blog 10 1/2 years ago and 9 years ago I had for that year made egg recipes every couple of week and this one of those recipes. Peppermint Meringue’s .  Here is the link to that post with the recipe.  These cookies are an easy make with few ingredients b
