Howdy All

Howdy!!!!

It's been a while again since I last wrote and for not doing much, a lot has occurred.

Last month my daughter went and had a surgery which cancer was detected, ovarian  cancer.  Not was I had (endometrial) but then I was told the type of cancer I had was not genetic. Fortunately the type she had does not spread and they had taken her ovaries and the cancer with it. What a great relief, I did not want her to have to through what I had.

So pretty much of January and first couple of weeks of February I was focusing on my daughter and some self care for myself.

Today

I started this post above the end of February, the 26th actually and now being March 13, it’s only obvious that I never did finish it or post.

In the last three weeks since then I’ve had a birthday, I’m happy to have birthdays even though it means I’m a year younger. I had a few appointments and some family come visit, so these past three weeks just went by so very quickly. I've enjoyed every minute of it though.

I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you about the little something I’ve been working on this past week. There is a knit along by Imagined Landscape who Sarah Schira is the creator of the patterns of knitted gnomes. They are the cutest little gnomes and this year she is having a knit along. Each month you knit at least one gnome and can post it on your Ravelry or on Instagram. She has a giveaway along also.

I couldn’t resist myself, especially seeing how I had purchased patterns a while back and haven’t yet made them. So I wanted to share my gnomes that I had made for January, February and March.

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...

It's for the Birds

WHOO  - WHOO It's my day for 'It's for the birds" blog hop.  Before I start I need to give thanks to our cheerleaders  and If it wasn't for all their hard work this hop would not of happen.  Thank you ladies Now for what you stopped by for. I have a lot of bird related patterns, especially ones that are chickens This quilt I made last year from a pattern in Quiltmania. Then here are a few more patterns I had and thought about doing. But time wasn't on my side for a big project.  You see I'm going to see "the little dudes" next week, it's their first birthday. Blake and Ben, my "little dudes" Can't believe it's been a year already. OK back to topic here.  A couple of years ago while at the Dallas Quilt show I purchased this pincushion.   I thought it was interesting but what I really wanted was the pattern. It came from a shop in Texas,...
