Lovely day

This morning was so cool and foggy out. Just lovely.  Did a few things around the house but tried to enjoy as much as I could outside. I took my little loom out on the porch to do some on the mug rugs or coasters.  I have another one to do and I’ll have a set of four completed.  Such a relaxing day and had myself a nap.  And afterwards I did some crocheting on the Christmas Afghan I started back in July.  I have one more set to do and than the main part will be done that leaves the trim around the outer edges  Was such a lovely day.  Till later  Kat

Blog plus Vlog

We are half way through 2020 and personally I hope the second half is better than the first but right now in the United States and here in Oklahoma it's not. I'm remaining to stay home, no eating out or any indoor crowds and wearing my mask every time I go out.  The good thing about spending more time home I have to say is I've gotten my creative mojo back this past month.  And also has given me time to think about how I can blog more and improve what I'm trying to share. So I'm going to be adding videos here on the blog that I will also post on my new YouTube channel. I want to be able to show more of what goes on here whether it's a project I'm working on, the garden, cooking or just daily life. Knowing that writing is not my best asset, maybe videos will help. It will be at the bottom, so if all works right just click on the video and it should play for you. My channel is called Rose Prairie Farm I dropped the quilts because I didn't want it to be con

Wonderful Weekend

It was a nice relaxing weekend for a change and boy did I so enjoyed myself. I had intended to write this last night but I was just enjoying how relaxed I was. Enjoyed watching season 3 of Outlander and working on my Advent socks AND  a new project  started a shawl for one of my daughter for Christmas. It's a crochet pattern by Sandra Paul of Cherry Heart, pattern is called Linden Bee So pretty.... Also was able to get to some sewing in weekend for the first time in quite awhile. In fact you can see by my collection of plants that found a home on the sewing table that I haven't been doing much sewing lately. They really do like it there, west facing window. But they were moved so I could dust off the machine do some sewing.  I have been collecting projects and finally was able to get a few completed. I finished up weaving on a few washcloths, so they needed to be hemmed.  Nothing fancy here, As you can see they are not

Countdown to Christmas

My goodness it's only 13 days until Christmas. Have to say this year is a little different, we have had family coming all month. My middle daughter and her family have been here already and  my oldest brother and wife will be here this weekend. Then next weekend my other daughters will be here.   Everyone is here to share Christmas with Mom. She now has hospice and we all want to make the most of what time she has left here on earth. Needless to say my time for a while now has been away from home and such but I have been taking still small hand projects to take with me when out on appointments and visits. I started a pair of advent socks It's been a few years since I've knitted some socks. I debated whether I would use double pointed needles or circular needles and I went with the DP needles. And have no regrets. I have missed knitting and I am taking it slow so my wrist doesn't act up. I had already knitted 2 cowls.  O

Mid Week Progress

Just a quick update on the WIP I'm working on The Blue windmill blocks I had cut out are finished  When I started this top last year I just cut out squares without counting them and it needs 9 more blocks to make a twin, so I found the fabric I used and now need to get some squares cut. Also have made some progress on the Wildrose Backpack This is the base/middle of the backpack Like I mentioned last time I'm using extra colors and so far it looks fine. Looking forward to see what it will look like when completed. The stitching on the project bag is done and now it's time to figure which fabric I like for the drawstring casing and maybe the lining. Had these 3 picked out and decided on this one. The base of the bag I decided it to be  crocheted. I'm using 2 mm macrame cord and so far I like the weight and hope it works out like I planned. Then the last is something I just started and it is warping fo
