It is the season for giving and receiving. These bags are for gifts, but I did not make all of them. I made the one on the right.  The bags were a cinch to make and the cutest little things. I made mine for my step mother who's birthday was yesterday. Her bag is 7x3x3 and big enough  that she could put her crochet needles in it. The one in front on the left is only 4x2x2. There are 4 sizes and will make great gifts. Can use scrap fabric cause it calls a fat quarter but you do not use but a portion of it. This  pattern is called "A Little Duffle Do It" by Karen West at www.lovethefabric.com The little pin cushion was a gift I received form a friend in the 30's club. Liz is known for excellent work in small quilts and this little block is 3". Just look at those nice points. I just love it. These make lovely gifts also. Kat

Today at our 30's club we had a cookie exchange and all the cookies were so yummy. I probably gain 2 or 3 lbs. I came home with a plate load which the "man of the place" attacked. But I was able to grab a couple of  peanut butter balls before he devoured them. My friend Mary made these and they have only 4 ingredients in them and no cooking involved. So here is Mary's Peanut Butter Balls 3 1/2 c. powdered sugar 2 c. peanut butter (creamy or chunky) she used creamy 1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk Mix all together with an electric mixer just because it is pretty thick and hard to mix. Make balls about the size of a large marshmallow (not the new campfire so'more size) Melt (you can melt in the microwave) the bar of Almond bark or chocolate. Dip the balls in the melted  bark. Let cool Then just enjoy.  Link to homestead revival

Here it is Dec. 10th already and the last day of Occupy Your Sewing Room and I did not get to stay in mine as long as I wish I could of. Had to be in Tulsa 2 days, a day in  Arkansas and 2 Christmas parties to attend this week. But I was able to put together a top that was our 30's BOM. Not sure what to do about the border or even if it should have one. As I look at the picture, it's pretty busy, I'll have to ponder this and if anyone has any suggestions they would greatly be appreciated.  Here are a few close ups of a couple individual  blocks. I really like the fabric choices in this block.  This block was in a book that Terry Thompson  wrote about her Aunts quilts. I have so much to celebrate and be so thankful for. First of all is my middle daughter  (who's expecting twins) today is her birthday Second I just can't believe it but six months after starting this blog, I have 50 followers. WOW!! And third is that you all have visited over 10,000 times. It's amazing and I'm so humbled by this all. What started out as an outlet for my going ons, here on the farm and my addiction to quilting could be something anyone would be interested in, is just hard to believe. And to top it all off, is that this all happen in the same day Dec. 8th. So I want to celebrate and give something back to you, so I'm going to try a give-away.
