Blogmas; 18 days till Christmas

Wow…. Only 18 days till Christmas  Time is just going by so quickly.  I have gifts to finish and get in the mail.  When thinking about what I need to get finished I realize its all hats I have on my needles.                      I have 3 hats…. Plus need to make another one for my other grandson.  The one I started I had to frog some because I wasn’t paying attention and went to far.  Getting closer to being done…. Then there is my advent knit I think I’ve figured out the fold and knit stitch.  As much as I’m enjoying this pattern now I have to focus on the gifts first.  Then there is the hat I’m not sure who it is for. The yarn I’m using is some that I dyed myself. I used yellow onion skins. Makes such a gorgeous yellow. Love the color. I can see a cardigan made in this color. I even have a pattern picked out but it will have to be a new year start.  This is today’s Advent gift This mini is my favorite so far.  Beautiful  Well I can’t think of anything else. It’s a little late and I

Monday Day 6 of Blogmas

Blogmas 2021 It’s Monday and sure felt like it.  I just wanted to stay home and keep busy here. But I had PT this morning, next week are my last scheduled appointments.  I know it has helped but I’m ready for a break from driving to Tulsa twice a week. I’ll keep doing at home what I’ve learned. This is today’s advent gift.  Loving the earthy colors so far this year. Hope it continues.  Sherry Iris has really done a beautiful job on these minis.    I thought I would share what I’m reading. I had read some of the stories back a couple years ago and I still have more stories to finish. I just love mysteries.  Seeing how all I have done today had to do with taking care of business I thought I would share a past Christmas post. I started my blog 10 1/2 years ago and 9 years ago I had for that year made egg recipes every couple of week and this one of those recipes. Peppermint Meringue’s .  Here is the link to that post with the recipe.  These cookies are an easy make with few ingredients b

Blogmas, day 5

Hello, it’s second Sunday of Advent  and the fifth day of Blogmas.  My day started out slow but very pleasant. But as the day went on I had more energy and was able to get some decorating done. Found a craft idea I wasn’t  aware that was popular last year but only just seen it now. So I decided to give it a shot.   But during my my slow morning I worked on my advent hat and got caught up watching some vlogmas’s.  I wanted to ask you if you know of any other blogs who are also doing Blogmas.  I would love to visit them and share what’s other bloggers are doing.  Please put them down in the comments.  While working on my advent hat, there’s a process where you have to catch a stitch in the back from the beginning of your new mini you started. And in the instructions it does say to use contrasting yarn. Well my minis really have no contrast to them and I thought well I’ll give it a try cause I want to use my minis. Well it was a struggle to do that row. Decided it was best to use  a contr

Day 4 of Blogmas

Wake up Lovey, it’s day 4 of Blogmas. It’s been a long day of not much to write about. This morning I was having my coffee and planning my day When my dad called and asked if I could drive him to Tulsa so he could care of an errand.   That was no problem since I had no obligation elsewhere. And you know what that means I wasn’t back until around 4.  We did have a good time together and lunch.  We both had a salad, he had a Cobb salad and I had a Cheeseburger salad  No sewing today but a lot of knitting.  This is what I have done so far on my Seaman’s hat Making good progress. Tonight’s movie is one of my favorites  What is your favorite Christmas  movie?  This is such a short post today, it happens sometimes.  Well we’ll see what tomorrow brings, God willing. Kat

Day 3, some sewing, knitting and chia jam

Here it is day 3 and have a little to share.  Was a busy day of catching up on some  cleaning and a little more decorating. Seems like as I’ve gotten older the days of rushing and worrying about getting everything perfect are no more.  I find it perfectly okay to do a little each day and if I don’t get it all done it will be just fine. I spent a fair amount of time sewing on the Peace quilt. I’m making the 74” x 74” size. Using 2 1/2” strips. Starting now to placing the sewn strips up on the design wall Feels good to be making a quilt again, seems like a lot longer than it has been. I know I won’t have this done in time for Christmas but my goal is to have it done this winter to give away as a gift.   Speaking of gifts this is day 3 Advent gift The tea was also in the package. Not bad. Had to get out my Santa mug for the occasion. Worked some more on the grandson’s hat while watching some Vlogmas’s and this evening while watching tonight’s Christmas movie. Forgot to mentioned last ni

Blogmas, Day 2

Day 2 and it was such a gorgeous day out. I’ve been meaning to ride my bike for the past couple days and finally this morning I was able to. It was just wonderful. Other than that it seems like my day just did not go as planned. I don’t know if you have that same issue or not I assume you do you and does it just drive you nuts, I know it does me. Even though I was busy most of the day, I barely got anything completed. Example I went to the store after going to the post office and I was going to pick up the few items I needed to make the chia jam. I needed some cherries and I needed some lemon juice. OK what did I do… I get home and realize I forgot the lemon juice. Now I live in the country and even the small town it’s 10 miles away so to just go back and get some lemon juice can be a pain in the bottom….. decided I will just wait till tomorrow. No jam to show or tell whether it was good or not. If all goes right, tomorrow I will. I wanted to share my Advent countdown candle. I shoul

It’s Day one of Blogmas

It’s here, the first day of Blogmas and I am ready. I had a busy day today which threw me off a little bit but I was able to get some of the things I wanted to do today done. Today I needed to go to Tulsa to see the dietitian, which went very well and I look forward to working with her in the future. Then I went to Michael’s looking for a candle to create an advent calendar candle. I had a little luck, I was able to get a white candle and some stickers to put on the candle and as you can see in the picture so far it’s working. I’ve mentioned this before but it seems like every time I go to Tulsa it’s pretty much an all day affair and again today with no different. I did not get home until 3 o’clock this afternoon. Which meant I was a little late getting started doing some of the things I plan today.  Opened my first day of my advent calendar from Sherry Iris and the yarn it’s so pretty. Very pleased with the color, Just wish the color was more true in the picture. I mentioned yesterd
