Day 18: My Christmas Quilts

I said I would show you the Christmas quilts I’ve made over the years.

I never started out to have such a large collections of Christmas quilts but I’m planning on making more to have even a larger collection.

I also have a few tops that need to be quilted still and my goal is to get those done next year so we can enjoy them next Christmas.

Well let’s get started….

Scandinavian Christmas by Lynette Anderson

This is a vintage top I bought on eBay, the pattern is from the 30’s product by mountain mist batting. Finished it off by hand quilting

#39 Poinsettia

You can still purchase this pattern

Love my Gingerbread man quilt design by Marilyn McSpadden.

It was a Block of the month at Sager Creek in Siloam Springs AR

This is an embroidered red work one.

Came from a book I believe called Redwork Winter Twitterings

One of my favorites next

Not sure of the name, I just call it my Snowman quilt  this one was also design by Marylyn McSpadden

This quilt is a string quilt that was a kit from Sager Creek.

This one is called Vintage Christmas by Erica Made

Now this quilt was a Round Robin

I was very lucky to be asked to join considering who was in the group.

All the ladies were published designers except for me.  Talk about pressure.

In the group was Elsie M Campbell, Pam Groggins, Donna Thomas and Marylyn McSpadden.

I treasure this one for many reasons

Now if I can just keep the boys off of it

Now this one came out of a book that I don’t remember at all.

Those are most of the quilts and hope you enjoyed a little Christmas cheer.

Till tomorrow

Kat

  1. Wow, you have a lot of Christmas quilts (all beautiful!) I just made another quilt for our bed and my husband asked me what I would do once i complete the quilt I'm currently making for my son. (Like I'm done with quilting or something because I've been making quilts & lab throws for everyone else since I "retired" in July) I was like...ha ha very funny. I will continue to quilt for some time! Thanks for sharing!

Countdown to Autumn. 18 days

After some thought I came up with a general "get to" list for a pre - Autumn preparation. I had mentioned a couple in the last post. I will keep those and have added a few more. I needed to remind myself that a lot of my ideas are a little premature hance the pre autumn and will be better done next month. So here is what I came up with... Deep cleaning is still on Planning activity for next month Decorating inside and out.   Making a fall outfit, sewing and knitting Find some new recipes to try Make a pair of fall or Halloween socks I will be focus on journaling with Autumn being the present subject.  Making sourdough bread again This one I have already started, Watching a cozy, feel good show. So "the man of the place" and are rewatching PBS All Creatures Great and Small. In a matter of a couple days we have watched season 1. I figure we need to refrain ourselves and keep it down to a couple episodes a night. Today I put a binding on another quilt from the pile. ...

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...
