December's Circles

I have been meaning to write this and show my circles for December but my mind and time has not been in sewing. This past week I have only been in the sewing room for an hour or so.  Wanted to get caught up on the few circles I was lacking but decided this wouldn't happen before Audrey's link up closed. \And I wanted to share "the little dude" Christmas themed circles. This is one set of what I have for December so far.    As you can count I'm 10 short and will make them up. I have them cut out just need to them sewn.  Hope you go check what others have posted of their circles. at Audrey's Quilty Folk

70's In December

Yes that's right, it's 70°  and  here it is December 9. This is unseasonably warm weather, but I have to admit I am enjoying it because I was able to put in some outside time that I normally wouldn't of been able to this time a year. Before I went outside today this morning, seeing how is it was in the 30's and 40's.   I worked on some of my Quilty 365 circles I have been searching for Christmas fabric to add to the boys I spy quilts.  And here are some of them that I found. Christmas is such a fun one to do.  I have a few more fabrics but not enough to go all the way to 25 December. I'm not sure what I'll do.  I'll deal with that when it when the time comes. Then this afternoon I spent time on something I normally do the end of October to the middle of November but seeing how I was gone this year and when I got back we had a whole mess of rain that the ground was too wet to mow.

Quilty 365 having a link up

I found out yesterday that Audrey at Quilty Folks is having a link up for her idea of doing one circle a day. She calls it Quilty 365 . Well after I had read her post about what she was doing, it was a no-brainer .....I was in on this. I had to think about what I wanted my circles to be as far as color and design. So after some thought of what to make, the only good answer was,  an I-spy quilt How long  I have been collecting fabric ? Long before they were born. And since these are for two toddlers, I'm hopeful that they will get a lot of wear and youth. The technique of putting the circles onto the background needs to be what I consider more sturdy, something that can take some wear and washing.  I love to hand appliqué but I just thought machine work will hold up better with two little boys. So what I do is from my collection of fabric here, I will cut out a 4 1/2 in. square.  Take the template and fussy cut the space I want. Then cut s
