Yarn Along

I have finished a couple projects since the last time I wrote about what I had been working on. I was able to finally and I mean finally finish, a pair of socks that I had started over 3 years ago. I remember working on them while flying to California. Now I have to decide who will be the recipient.  I also started and finished a scarf with some yarn that I had in my stash.  Effin Scarf Found this pattern that I thought was so cute and before using some expensive yarn, made it with the stash yarn.  Turned out just as cute as the picture and that doesn't happen all the time for me.   It was very fast and easy, a no brainer. Going to start another using this yarn here. I was also able to listen to a couple of books too.  The first was It was a fun spooky little book. Not too gory.  It was one I found out about on another blog here on Ginny's link up a while back. Thanks to all the others who link up I h

What's Up 3.22.16

I've had one of those weeks, I have intended to get so much done and just didn't happen. So I had nothing to write about.  It's a new week and been able to get a little done. Up on the wall is a little progress on the Scandinavian Christmas.  All 4 blocks completed and sew. Added the inter border and now working on the prepping the applique blocks.  There are 23 heart blocks.  Doing the method of using freezer paper templates and with stray starch and a brush, moisten the edge and press it back onto the templates. Then tack it done onto the background with a little glue and it's ready to stitch. Also on the wall is a baby quilt I did last year. Going to add a border, want it to be a little bigger. Then it's going to get sandwiched to be machine quilted. Need to get in some more practice in. So far I only have 4.5 hours in and nowhere near my goal. But little by little I'll get there The backg

What's Up 3.14.16

Made it back from Dallas around midnight and slept in this morning. Felt good.  The Dallas show was excellent, the quilts gorgeous, and we did pretty well at our booth also. I have been working the Dallas show for six years now and I have enjoyed it every time I go. It's just a wonderful show. And if you ever get a chance you ought to try. Mark it on your calendar and.  it's usually the second weekend in March So what I have up on my wall is the start of the last block to be appliquéd to my Words to Live By quilt. I'm working on tracing my appliqué pieces to some Soft Fuse. I like using Soft Fuse with wool, because it's so flexible and works with the wool very well, sticks to it excellently. The other half of the wall is devoted to the Scandinavian Christmas wall hanging. I'm working on the churn dashes for blocks 4.  Already have the crossed stitch snowflake block finish for that section.  And I

More Show Pics
