Day 4 Where did the time go.

Love this picture

It's hard to believe it's the last day and I feel like I haven't made a dent. I figure you could lock me in my sewing room for a year and I probably still wouldn't have it all done.  I think I need to make this my motto

What do you think.

Being that it is Sunday I'll get my sewing done in spurts.
I'm going to get in a early start, now 8:30 and see what I can done before church, then afterwards I'll get back and give an update. Until then let the fun begin.

Alright it's 1:30 and I'm ready to get back to sewing. This morning I was able to get this months Stash Bee blocks. I hope I was able to get them bright enough for her. They were very easy to put together, and 12.5 " block

Now I am going to make the small churn dash blocks to go on the side of one of the applique block of Scandinavian Christmas I finished a while back

We'll see how much I can get done before I need to go help "the man of the place" load up a few calves that we are going to take to the stockyard this afternoon. I hope and think that these are the last of the calves we need to take until next year.
Till then I'm off .

So it's almost 9 and I have been done for awhile. We had to take a few calves to the stockyard and today they had boys helping on horse back.
Can hardly see the boy helping on left.
I took this picture while sitting in the  truck.

Now for what I did get finish after the last update.
Completed the churn dash blocks

I have small square to still cross stitch to add the the others.

I also prepared 2 more blocks to be appliqued

After these 2, I have only 4 more to go and I can put the top together. It has been a productive time for me and it felt so good being able to sit and sew these past few days. I hope to keep it up and if not at least partake in November's Quiltaton.

This is me now.

Thanks for following my progress

Countdown to Autumn. 18 days

After some thought I came up with a general "get to" list for a pre - Autumn preparation. I had mentioned a couple in the last post. I will keep those and have added a few more. I needed to remind myself that a lot of my ideas are a little premature hance the pre autumn and will be better done next month. So here is what I came up with... Deep cleaning is still on Planning activity for next month Decorating inside and out.   Making a fall outfit, sewing and knitting Find some new recipes to try Make a pair of fall or Halloween socks I will be focus on journaling with Autumn being the present subject.  Making sourdough bread again This one I have already started, Watching a cozy, feel good show. So "the man of the place" and are rewatching PBS All Creatures Great and Small. In a matter of a couple days we have watched season 1. I figure we need to refrain ourselves and keep it down to a couple episodes a night. Today I put a binding on another quilt from the pile. ...

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...
