Well after the usually "I have not done this in a few days and I'm so excited to be sewing some" problem. I'm able to proceed.
The tension goes screwy
Needless to say after ripping out the bad stitches and cleaning out the bobbin area I was able to sew on the small outer border. Cut the strip for the outside border and put it all on the wall.
I really don't like the look of just adding it straight across like that, so I am going to see about mitering the corners. The pattern repeats every 3 inches and I haven't done the math yet but I would really like to do it that way..
I have done mitered corners but not with a pattern like this. Little scary trying something new.

Fingers crossed.
Its 1:30 now and I'll have lunch and go about with a few things I need to tend to and I'll be back at it.
Till then
If mitering doesn't do it for you; try putting something different in the 4 outside corners...then you won't have to worry about lining patterns up
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I avoid mitering.....grin. Looks good as is.
ReplyDeletewow gorgeous!!

Looks fantastic, if the mitreing worries you just add blocks to the 4 corners to separate the boarder.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that is stunning! Corner blocks are a great idea but it would look great mitered. ;)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do! I think mitering would really look nice but understand the fear of the math. Gotta use that beautiful brain for something though!
