It has been a very relaxing Sunday for me. With the new cold front that came in today it was a great day to to watch a good movie and do some handwork. I had prep the first block of Morning Glory's BOM,
Columbine
I know the picture she has is with a black background but I wanted to do mine in an off white sateen. I just love the look of sateen.
We watched the movie Boyhood. I thought it was so nice to see the actors all age naturally. I felt it displayed real life.
And then we watch the first few episodes of Longmire on Nexflix. I was so pleased when they picked up that series after A & E dropped it.
I'm going to link this up at Kathy's Quilt and I hope you'll go check out all the others who have too.
that is a beautiful looking pattern
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. I'm excited about this one.
DeleteWhat a marvelous pattern! Sounds like you had a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteIt was a good day, hope yours was also.
DeleteWow that's a beautiful design and you've got a good start on it. I looked through your blog to see how you prepped your pieces and I had never heard about the RT stabilizer before. I'm going to have to try it because while I know how to do needle-turn hand applique, I also often do IMA and am still looking for an effective way to prep the pieces. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, I think she designed a beautiful quilt. Now for this project since I'm hand stitching it I am using a fusible wash away applique sheets by C & T publishing. You can put it through your printing or trace your design. Cut out the pieces and fuse to the wrong side of the fabric. Trim a 1/4 - 1/8 inch around and with an acid free glue stick fold over the edges instead of needle turning. Then applique down. It's thin enough that it is easy enough to stitch through. I use Ricky Tims paper only when I machine applique cause it is a bit thicker and harder to needle through. I hope that will help you even further in trying new ways and seeing if it one that will work for you.
DeleteBeautifully done!
