What's Up 5-7-19

Hey there,
I have come to realize every time I write after a couple weeks have past I have so much to share that it's just too much to put in one post and as a result, things get left out which never seem to get shared.
Today is another one of those times, sorry.


 One thing I love about where I live is all the colorful birds.
When I lived in California there wasn't so many colors at one time



Bluebirds and (the others not pictured) Blue jays, Cardinals, Goldfinches, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds. These are the ones with the most color and then there are so many more.


 Now Orioles.
A couple years ago they shown up but would stay for maybe a week. I tried a liquid feeder and that just wasn't enough. I would put oranges out last year and they did like that but still didn't stay around long. 
So this year I purchased a new feeder, one that has it all.
Even a place for grape jelly, which they seem to love the best.


In 4 days I have put out a whole jar of jelly.


They are so pretty and at one time there were 5 on the feeder.
I read if they have jelly they will stick around, so far they have been here 2 weeks. Longest so far.  Hoping for babies. 


Also read they will return each year if it a good place.


I have finish weaving the dishtowels 


Now that I had washed them, next is to hem and then I'll show the towels when that's done

I was able to get my #"Onethingwithamy" completed 
Made a small bag from some fabric that I had woven up



It will be something useful when going out to Farmer Market or other places I do not wish to take a purse

Now this weeks one thing is bowl cozies for me. I made sets for Christmas gifts in 2017 and said I would make some for myself. Well now I will.


My fabric choice.


A couple weeks ago I found this in the cupboard and figure I better give it a try or just give it away.


First time trying this method of making sauerkraut. in a month or so I'll let you know how it worked out.

That's not all I would like to share.

I have some finishes and new projects started I will post by this weekend.

    Love your bird photos. You've been busy. Hope you are high and dry after all the rain we've had the last couple of weeks.

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. It's for the Birds

WHOO  - WHOO It's my day for 'It's for the birds" blog hop.  Before I start I need to give thanks to our cheerleaders  and If it wasn't for all their hard work this hop would not of happen.  Thank you ladies Now for what you stopped by for.
