My personal challenge today

Snowman quilt as it looks right now at 9:30 am Intention, put a fire under my @&$? and finish it. Heaven knows I have been having such a time at either being motivated,  making time or just being home this past month. Today I'm here and same with tomorrow. Now if I can stay on track and not distract myself, I should be as good as gold. Goal by the end of day will post what I was able to accomplish. I'm making this post as short as possible so I can get in my sewing room and get busy. Till later today Kat =^..^=

Not much sewing going on

I have been so busy putting up apples, okra, tomatoes, green beans and eggplant that I have not  been in the sewing room much, but doesn't all these jars look beautiful.                       I have been trying to getting some piecework ready to take with me on the 3 days shop hop bus trip I'll be going on. So I'll take some knitting and these applique blocks. The pattern is from this book and I know mine looks like theirs. Sometimes I see something that I just love and I cannot think outside the box. I have seen example of this pattern in antique quilts in different colors but I just love the black. You do not see much done in 30's black. There is this one that has yellow points http://www.quiltindex.org/basicdisplay.php?kid=4C-83-402 and then there are ones like this one that have red points http://www.quiltindex.org/basicdisplay.php?kid=57-90-724 And this one has a neat use of changing the the whole look on this pattern http://www.quiltindex.org/bas

Oh more crumbs

OK here is my 3rd weeks attempt at my crumbs into blocks. I am learning lots from not measuring or using a proper seam allowance. You can see from star that it is so much easier not to have points on my star, I realized what I was doing wrong, it's all in the placement. The ones that where you just sew bits and pieces to is so relaxing. I really like doing these. The hearts are so easy. If it wasn't for wanting to get this posted before I left the house, I would have zillions of them (OK maybe not zillions, but more for sure). If you have not tried these process before (like me) give it a shot. You might like it. Check out Jo's Country  , she'll get you started Till next time Kat =^..^=

Finially, fingers crossed

Now I just love having the Internet and all but I am having troubles with the server or something and I am so frustrated I could spit nails. I have been trying to post this since last night. So I am making it quick just in case I lose my signal again. I was not able to get all I hoped to but I did pretty well. I was able to finish adding the circles and bottom leaves (?) but did not get the last 2 birds on. Now I can start stitching those down. I was able to finish the yellow circles and glue baste them on. Now I am ready to stitch this block.   And I did finish the snowman block. The cutest. My daughters have seen me work on this and they all have put in their requests, 3 daughters and one quilt, what is a mother suppose to do. I ran out of time and I did not get the pattern drawn (?) for my Vintage Garden quilt. Maybe this weekend. Today our stitch group meets so I'll get busy on what I have prepared. Fingers crossed, that this goes out to y'all. Till next time Kat =^.

My W.I.P. on my mind

I just finished my chores outside and I am all cleaned up and ready to tackle the inside jobs, (and no it's not housework) it's my W.I.P..  Now by the looks of the pictures you are probably thinking this woman has issues and you are on target there. I just have too many projects going that I am determind to finish. Today my goal is to finish the machine applique stitch to the snowman.   Finish glue basting the small yellow dots to  the red circles and then I can say I have finally the first block ready to stitch of the Beyond The Cherry Tree Quilt .  I have only been collecting the patterns for over a year and had the fabric all picked out but just kept saying to myself "I am not starting another project". Well I did complete a couple tops I had been working on, so I decided it's now or never. Beside I just could not stand waiting any longer. And with high hopes I hope to at least get the last block copied onto some freezer paper so I can get one step closer to f
