Egg Recipe # 26

I wanted to say a few things on about "the girls", it has been extremely hot here and very stressful on them. I had 22 hens last month and within the last month I have lost 3 hens from this blasted heat. Beside the lost of hens the heat also played a toll on egg productions. Can't blame them. If you too have chickens and have been dealing with these hot temps. I hope that you are fairing better than I am. Waffle Egg Sandwich I had seen a recipe for this on myrecipe.com and thought what a neat idea. Made one and you know what, they are really good. I follow the recipe somewhat but then used what I had on hand. So I had made some waffles and put the leftovers in the freezer. I took two portions out and defrosted them in the microwave. Ingredients; egg  waffle cheese  bacon, sausage or canadian bacon Preheat oven at 400 F. You will cook your meat and scramble or fry your egg with the yolk thoroughly cook. It's Yarn Along day

It is Yarn Along day and it has been a few weeks since I last posted what it is I'm knitting and reading. I have to admit that I am still working on my shawl Color Affection and I'm almost done. I should have it finish here in the next week which mean I need to have a project ready to do. I thought I would make the little dudes a giraffe I found on Raverly. I really love that site, so much is offered and I always seem to find some really neat projects. And this will be a fun one   Melman the Giraffe by Cassidy Clark Cassidy Clark Designs Then there is the book I going to start and it is in honor of Julia Child, on what would of been her 100th birthday this Monday August 15th I use to watch her on TV many years ago and just thought she made cooking look so easy. I had also seen the movie of her memoir a couple of years ago and loved it.  I hoping the book will be enjoyable too. So we"ll see. Till next time Kat =^..^=

Using up Stash

I have been so not sewing much  these  past few months but I think I have my mo-jo back. I have been able to spend hours in my "happy room" these past couple of days. I was very close to finishing 2 on my challenges off my list. I hope in a day or two  to be able to post them  and then I also was cutting up some of my stash for my New FO for August but I'll get to that later. I will give you a peek thou  A fellow blogger and friend gave me her copy of a pattern she is doing, thank you Barbara. So this week I used more than I had bought.   Yeah!

My NewFo for July

It is getting to be a bad habit with me on posting a day or two late. There is a saying, "A day late and a dollar short." I think that was written for me. So you are thinking, what is she doing having another project to put on the list but you see I had these UFO blocks that were left over from a quilt I made many, many years ago. And when I saw an older book from Blackbird Designs I just knew I could put them to good use. I decide I will make the Rick Rack Garden Quilt out of their book You're Invited. So there it is my NewFO for July and if you wan to see some more hop on over to  Cat Patches . Till next time Kat =^..^=

In a large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks until very thick and lemon colored. Beat in sugar gradually. Add water, lemon extract and lemon rind. Beat in flour. In another bowl, beat egg whites until frothy. Then add cream of tartar and salt. Beat mixture until whites are stiff, but not until they are dry. Fold this whipped mixture into yolk mixture. Egg Recipe #24

I have been wanting to make this cake but just haven't had the time lately, plus I am also on a restricted diet. My triglycerides are too high and I have to limit my sweets and fat intake. You know how hard that is when you have a sweet tooth like I do. I'm doing good, so this recipe I will just pass along this time. If you make it I would like to know what you thought of it.  I am so far behind on posting egg recipes that I'm going to have to double up.
