I had been working on getting caught up since I started late, but I did made a dent in it. So far I'm liking my color choices. One thing about a mystery is that your not sure if what you pick out will work but seeing how I'm going scraping I have a better chance
Last weeks clue was to make 192 - 4 patches (I have a 1/3 done)
This weeks clue is to make 128 flying geese ( again about 1/3 done)
And if you had time or just wanted to like me, you could get a head start on next week by cutting 64 rectangles from the background fabric - done (that was a no brainier for me)

So what I did for what Bonnie had chosen as the colors I changed. For lime green I changed out to Cheddar. Now out of all the changes this is the one I am curious about. You can have too much of a bright/contrasting color that your eye could focus only on those colors, so will see.
Then for the Turquoise I just went with another shade of blue, mainly Cadet blue.
Then for the purple I went with a Madder red.
My Grey is more of a tarnish grey
And for my background instead of black and white I'm using shirting's. I'm staying away from the ones that read tan, trying to go with the ones that are mostly off white.
What do you think, will they work?
Yep, I think they are going to work! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThey look fantastic love your fabrics
ReplyDeleteWonderful fabric choices. It'll be a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteOf course it will work! I'm loving it so far.

ReplyDeleteI am using your colors so far for Easy Street. I have a tan with shirtings and other off white prints. I am using a garnet red for the purple. Will
ReplyDeleteuse dark blue for the tourq. and darker greens for the green.

Good luck.

Oh, I can't wait until we get to the step where you can use the cheddar!
ReplyDeleteYes...your fabrics are going to work just fine! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteReally liking your colors. It is going to be gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love your color choices. It will be fun to see all the finished quilts, especially the ones with different color choices than Bonnie's.
ReplyDeleteHeck, Nancy said EVERYTHING I was going to say!! LOL! I was thinking of doing other colors, but that would involve more thought on my part, so it was easier to go with Bonnie's color scheme, since this is my first Mystery!
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
Lovely!
