Egg Recipe # 21 Homemade Mayonnaise

When I went online to find a mayo recipe I came across basically the same recipe with slight variations by adding lemon juice or vinegar or both, then there was the addition of mustard. could be Dijon or dry powder. Then there was the oil, some said straight canola, vegetable or olive oil but could be a combo. Then on the incredible egg  website you'll find a recipe for cooked blender mayonnaise. I think I'll try that next. There is also a very informative article written on The Guardian   about all the ingredients and what they do in the recipe. Homemade Mayonnaise . Ingredients *2 egg yolks 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard or 1 tsp dry mustard Kosher salt 1 1/2 cups neutrally flavored oil (vegetable, canola) Preparation: Let all your ingredients come to room temperature before you begin. Using my cute  separato r Using an electric hand mixer, stand mixer, blender or a wire whisk, whip the egg yolks for a

What's up Monday

This is what's up on my wall for me to work on this week, it's my Civil War Blocks from Barbara Brackman's blog she did last year. Need to finish quickly before the site goes down. I'm home again and it seems like I have been saying that a lot these past few months. Beside telling myself I have so much  to catch up on. I was out in the veggie garden just feeling overwhelmed with the weeds doing so  much better than the veggies I have growing. I usually mulch very heavily but did not have the straw or the time to get it done between trips. That is why the weeds have over taken some of the beds. There will be some gardening on my list for this week. With the temp being in the triple digits this week I will only be able to spend a couple hours in the morning outside. I have been indoor way too much lately so I am just not use to this heat. What a woos. I plan on trying to get my list shorten. I did get a couple of the things from my last list done, whic

Day one at WICHITA Show

Did you notice I had miss spelled Wichita. How silly. Sorry Wichita. To make it up I would like to share a few more of the talent here and their quilts

Checking out my app

I'm at the Whitcha Show and where I'm staying out I do not have access to Internet so I'm trying app. I hope show pictures. So I'll see if it works. If so that is how I'll do this for the next couple of days.

Day Two in Minnesota

We had a good day, lots of wonderful quilters attending the show   and came by our booth. By the end of the day I was able to go around and view the quilts that are in the building we are in. There are 3 building with quilts and vendors So I wanted to show you what I found, this pattern here , I love tree patterns, and I wanted to share some of the quilts that were in our building. I am doing a theme show, all relating to tree.  A Quilter's Menagerie by Ann Fahl Tall Pines by Sandi Irish Autumn Leaves Aglow by Carolyn Jensen Forgot to get name Awesome Nature by Elsie Anderson  And then I found this cute tunic pattern, I have been  in the mood to sew some clothing and this is one I want to make. Till next time  Kat =^..^=

Just a minute

That's all I feel like a have left in me this evening. Up at 6:30, just like if I was home but I when to  bed late last night thou. We unloaded the van and had the booth set up by 2:00, thinking we were done and I figure we goof off a little after I changed rooms. The room I was in just had a few issues. One, the light next to the bed when out, I mean totally out, broken. The toilet also wasn't the best flusher. New room is better than other one but I need to remind myself we are not at the Hyatt.  Anyway back to my story, no goofing off, the show had a sneak peek from 7 - 9 pm. So needless to say we went back after dinner and worked for a couple of hours. Needed to hit the store before going back to the room. Did that and when back in my room I took my shower and now it's my time for bed but I said I would write something daily. So I did Good Night  I found this picture and could believe this was not taken by me. Because it looks just like my cat Buddy an

Made it to Minnesota

It took 12 hours but we finally made to Rochester, Minnesota. We had left Arkansas around 7:30 this morning and with many potty stops and a detour we're here. Minnesota has a very pretty welcome marker.  Before we reached Minnesota we stopped in Iowa (one of many) and realized we were in Madison County. You know, the place written in a novel called "The Bridges of Madison County", also a movie too.  So we saw this one on the way to Winterset.   This is the Court House for Madison County, there in Winterset. Does that town sound familiar, it is the birthplace of John Wayne. "The man of the place" is a big fan.  But Winterset is also the place where Fons & Porter have their shop. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the shop, and I found a kit that I was going to order a while back but at the time it was sold out. But look they had one there sitting on the shelf calling me. I like the part in there magazi
