I should call it books along cause that's pretty much about all I have to share of what I have accomplished these past two weeks. I did finish one Spa Washcloth and did a few more Make-Up Remover Pads but I mainly listen to a good many books on my drive from Northern California to Northeast Oklahoma... a 1900 mile drive. Since I was by myself it takes a little longer, 3 days. So in 3 days I was able to finish "The Girl On The Train" Then finish "The Blue Zone Solution" Started and finished "Crying Blood" And I'm 3/4 of the way done with "Healthy Brain, Happy Life" I would like to give my opinion of these books and a description by the publisher.  The Girl on the Train I enjoyed this book but I love mystery's. It kept me wondering who is involved and what was going on. It was a great book to listen to. The Blue Zone Solution I have a thing for nutrition so I read and study a lot on this subject. I have

My day did not go as I had planned this morning. I figured I would work outside for a couple hours and come inside to clean up, then spend time in the sewing room all afternoon. It look good on paper but not in reality... I did spend the morning outside but longer than I thought I would. First on all the humidity was lower than it has been so I was able to last longer working.  I was out there from 7 to 11am...was able to plant seeds for zucchini and butternut squash, weed some more (which I bet will take me all this month to get it cleaned up). Was working in the bed with the onions and like the peppers... there are some in there There they are The front porch finally was cleaned up of all the fallen bird seed and fall decorations. Pretty sad that I had not gotten to that before now but seeing how I live in the boonies and do not have company very often it was easy to put it off. The same blocks have been up on my wall since I left last month. Friday evening I arrived back home and have been so busy getting caught up with cleaning and working in the garden that I haven't even thought about sewing. Seeing how I ran around town taking care of errands this afternoon ... I should have the next few days to work on projects in the afternoon.  The mornings are devoted to working out in the garden. In California the weather was perfect, they can use some rain tho. Not like here in Oklahoma... while I was gone it rained pretty much the whole time, along with unusual cool temps.  So certain plants did not grow very much or like the strawberries which had too much moisture - rotted. The weeds flourished. There are bell peppers planted in this bed, so after an hour of weeding you can now see them. Like I said the peppers did not care for the weather this past month. I can not say I like the weather we are having now...Yuck HUMIDITY   T

 I spent today with my oldest daughter, going out to lunch and then she took me to a yarn shop that she had taken notice of and thought I would like to go check out.  I couldn't resist coming home with a new project  Love the look of this scarf and the yarn is a cashmere, merino and nylon blend, the feel and drape is wonderful. And they had this vest on display which I also love.  It's a free pattern on raverly sideways garter vest But for now I'm working those facial pads and spa washcloths  I have done very little reading on my Kindle. I have been reading Far from the Madding Crowd. Haven't made it very far, so I don't have any opinion yet. I wanted to share a little of what I have been working on, I did bring along with me mainly embroidery projects. I am still working of my list of UFO's and to be honest with myself I'll be working off that list for quite some time.  The ones I been working on is Scandinavian Christmas by  Lynette Anderson this is the quilt pattern and the section I am working on is the 3rd part. Right now I have all the appliqued parts done and I am working on the embroidery details. Done mainly in the back stitch and some stain stitching for the hearts and french knots (I use a colonial knot) Then the next thing I'll need to do is the cross stitched border. I copy the design on treansfer-eze and then will apply it to the block.  That is what I have used on my Snowman quilt that I doing (also on the list) I did finish the one block I brought with me.  I using the same fabric for all the blocks, a light motley blue. While here at my daughters I love to go the the plant nurseries to see if I can find new plants to take home with me. They have this really nice nursery called Green Acres, I just love that name.  And have a good selection of geraniums. I love geraniums, to me they are a flower that reminds me of my Grandmother. An old fashion plant but one that is still as popular as back then.  So I couldn resist the new varieties and bought 6 plants. per-pelargonium a. white splash Martha Washington Mrs Polack Angel Eyes  scented Lady Plymouth Then another that I had taken a picture but didn't download for some reason, which is a deep red ruffled edge flower. Since I last written it has been a whirl wind of activities around me. I had the garden to prep and plan and have it hooked up to an automatic timer (my new toy for this year for the garden)  for watering while gone but it's been so wet and cool since I left I had "The Man of the Place" turn it off for now. With that rain come the threaths of tornados and that is one thing I do not miss.  I'm at my daughters now visiting and enjoying my Grandsons. They turned 3 and they are so sweet but they are also typical little 3 year olds. Full of energy and talking a mile a minute. You can guess that when evening comes this Grammy is pretty tired.  Now I did bring some piecework to do and have done some.  I did finish the last two blocks of Rubys Garden before I came, so I hope to work on getting those set when I get back.
