Good Day

This Morning I was able to get in a little quilting before I had to go to Tulsa. I had both tires on my bike go flat so it was time to take it to the shop and get it taken care of. Been a while since they went flat and now that the weather is getting warmer, I'm itching to ride. Been making some progress, almost to the last corner and than just a few more stars and the white spaces between. After I came home this afternoon, was able to finish the last blocks  for the Wonky Log Cabin. They turned out really nice. Next is finding a backing so I can go ahead and quilt in on the long arm. This evening while watching TV I prepped some more hexes. Over all it was a good day, best part is I was able to get in a short ride in this afternoo n. Looking forward to more. What's Up and On My List

I mean't to write yesterday but time got away from me and then I just to tired to write last night. What's up on the design is a couple projects I hope to get completed this month. One is the Wonky Log Cabin working on 6 more to go along with the 6 I have completed. I am having so much fun making these. I really do need to make more improve. Plus it is such a pleasure to use up scraps. Then on to the other blocks up on the wall. Have 4 of the 9 blocks needed for the Kith and Kin Again this is a stash buster, using up 2 1/2" strips.   I have found a few nice patterns using 2 1/2" strips and boy do I have the strips already cut and in tubs. Now to the List, have 10 items listed. 1. Finish the Lime Crosses 2. RSC - yellow-   Wonky Log Cabin 3. Prep some of the outside border for the Vintage Garden 4. Outside border for my Snowman quilt ( I need to take a more currant picture) 5. Finish quil
I worked some on the Wonky Log Cabin blocks. Finished these 6 and will do 6 more Blocks are 12 1/2 right now. Mainly today is I worked on some piecework. Quilted some on the Blue Rocky Road,  after having it put to the side for a while..... since I was quilting on the Scandinavian Christmas . Now that it's done, this quilt really needs to be finished. There is a lot of quilting in this quilt and I'm still not sure how I will quilt the border. Also this evening did some more stitching on the Mosaic Diamond Hexagon blocks. I am in the process of changing this up some and I'll get into that more later Linking up with Kathy

Scrappy Time

Well this morning we woke up to a light snow on the ground and temp of 26.  And never got above 45.... Loved it but I figure this is the last till next winter. Perfect day for the excuse of staying in the sewing room and decided to start this months RSC.... which the color is YELLOW This month I'm trying something new, Wonky Log Cabin. Got the ideal from Amy over at Diary of a Quilter. She is doing charitable projects that we can help. She calls it  Here is a link for more info   Started out going trough the tub and grabbing yellow scraps and then pressing some. Following her directions , I separated the scraps by size and  and started sewing the centers. Then like a traditional log cabin you start sewing strips around the center.   Had to quit to start dinner, stew ... feels like stew weather... cold. Made a good start and it is going together very easily, refreshing not to be precise. Last month colo

Thank Goodness it's Friday

I have had computer issues for a few years now, nothing major just that I've had to power my laptop by battery and not through direct power. Like my last Dell the power source jack would not stay connected.  So I purchase extra battery and charger, that way I had a battery to use. Nice in theory but it has it's glitches.  The battery use life could be maybe a couple hours, sometimes shorter, depending on the task I'm doing. I could and was living with that...... But The last straw is that Windows want to continually interrupt what I working on to download the new update to Windows 10. That would be fine but seeing how I can't keep it plugged in to download and battery doesn't last long enough. Needless to say it's not getting downloaded, close but not completed. Even though it said 89%, when battery goes dead I lose that installment. Have to start all over. Fed up and bought a new laptop that I'm learning "Windows 10"

Yeah a Finish and Newbie

Yeah A Finish  In my last post I mentioned that crocheted blanket  I started about 3 weeks ago and my goal was to use up all the small leftover balls of yarn I had, and boy do/did have. Unfortunately it didn't take all the balls I had in this plastic container. Did use over half of them tho. Looks like I'll need make another.  Well I started another one this morning. I took it with me to the doctors office because mom had an appointment today.    The crochet  blanket  goes  very fast. It was made with two balls at a time, a light color and a dark color and a large hook. I used a size N/P Bob sure likes to pose for the camera

My Plans for the Week

I had planned out my week yesterday, with high hopes of getting a couple projects finished.  That’s in-between doctor visits. Today is Moms and Thursday it time for "Pete the cat" to get a wellness checkup, he’s 12 years now. With all that  I hope to get the scrap yarn crochet blanket done Right now it’s 82” long and figure maybe another 6” Want it to fit a twin bed.  Wish it had used up all the little balls in the stash box but not quite, don’t think there will be enough for another that size tho. And the other big goal is to finish the the last two borders on the Dreamy Hexagon Making good progress on this border and then all I have left is a plain one.  These blocks end up being 12 1/2 unfinished and to get it that way the squares in the 16 patch were cut 2 5/8 and the outer triangle were from a 6 7/8 square cut in half. Working in eights can be a challenge to make it come out to right size. Normally I to have the unit/blocks sligh
