Hope you had a good day.
I did, I got
FaceTime with the "little dudes" this afternoon. So nice to spend time with them.
I put another quilt in my hoop today.
It is a quilt I started probably 15 years ago. It is another scrap quilt with scraps from my clothing sewing days.
A lot of memories in this one.
A majority of it quilted already.
The pattern is Rocky Road and I did foundation piecing, using my favorite color BLUE
I'm using blue quilting thread and at the time I started this it wasn't popular to use Pearl Cotton thread to quilt with as it is now. I do wish I had cause I believe it would be easier than what I'm doing now.
I wanted a larger stitch than I usually do and again that has been something I think I wouldn't do again. It looks fine but to change what I normally do is a challenge. It's like learning all over again. I have to pay attention, if not I fall back into what I'm comfortable doing.
I don't normally spend time piecing a back together but I had extra blocks so I did on this one.
And I have to say I was lucky when I sandwiched it together cause the quilting matches fairly well on the back too.
So this is it and I do not plan it taking me another 15 years to finish.
I wish tho I would of kept track of how many hours I have in it quilting. Something I plan on doing from now on.
I love the look of that quilt.........goodluck finishing it.............
