Yarn Along

This past couple years I have had to deal with pain in my right hand when knitting. So I have been doing very little. The slippers I just made was taxing and so disappointing cause knitting is something I love to do and here it is more pain than pleasure. Knitting is the first thing I learned and has been my go to handwork.
even with that said, I will not give it totally up.
I had started this when in California for my daughter and I'm back at it.

Mine is not in pretty colors like this.
Mines are in earth tone colors.
The cats will love it.

Now for the books.
I gave myself a goal this year of reading 25 books.
Well I'm a little short of this goal.
Right now on number 23 and do not believe I can have 2 more books read in a couple weeks. But that's OK. there is next year

Presently reading
A Light in the Window Audiobook

This is the second book in "The Mitford Years" series.
and so loving it. Its a sweet read that makes me wished I was there knowing those people in the book.
Here's the
 Publisher's Summary
(of the first book)

At Home in Mitford Audiobook

It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable.
Yet Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge. Now, stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's 60 years old.
Suddenly, Father Tim gets more than he bargained for. And readers get a rich, provincial comedy in which mysteries and miracles abound.
Don't miss out on the rest of Father Tim's adventures in Mitford.

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...

It's for the Birds

I have a lot of bird related patterns, especially ones that are chickens This quilt I made last year from a pattern in Quiltmania. Then here are a few more patterns I had and thought about doing. But time wasn't on my side for a big project.  You see I'm going to see "the little dudes" next week, it's their first birthday. Blake and Ben, my "little dudes" Can't believe it's been a year already. OK back to topic here.  A couple of years ago while at the Dallas Quilt show I purchased this pincushion.   I thought it was interesting but what I really wanted was the pattern. It came from a shop in Texas,...
