this one was in the July/August issue of Fons and Porter's magazine, Quilting Quickly.
Even though I have been using these trimmers for a few years now I always seem to learn something new. And this month was no exception. Learn how to make these shaded 4 patches units. I've seen the demo sheet and even have talked about it at quilt shows when we're there at the booth but personally have never made one.
My goodness they are so easy to make this unit that looks so complicated. Here is a brief example of the steps taken to make the unit. And here is a link to one of Deb Tucker's YouTube videos showing you how to make it.
I love the Tucker Trimmer, it's one of my go to ruler/trimmer.
This is my block I made this month,
and then here's a group shot of all of our blocks that the class made with each individual holding their blocks.
Been making progress on the "Words to Live By" quilt.
I completed sewing the HST yesterday and cut apart.
Now I'm in the process of pressing and trimming. I'm using my Tucker Trimmer to do that.
I have half of the HST completed and hope to have these done by tomorrow.
I wanted to show my progress last night but we found the bathroom adjacent to the garage with water on the floor. Come to find out it was the drain that the air-conditioners condensing unit drains into. So last night we worked on how to drain it out of that room to outside. We ended up using garden hoses
This was 9:30 at night and I came into the house just ringing wet with sweat. This humidity is for the birds. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the plumber to call and make appointment to come out and fix that drain. Always seems like it's one thing or another happens
Hope the plumber managed to fix the problem. Loved looking at all of your groups blocks, they look amazing.
