What's Up 10.17.16

 on the design wall is the same as it has been for the past couple of weeks, Words to Live By.


I didn't do a thing on it today other than prep a section to sew.
What I did do is trimmed 3 quilts for binding.



My mind is on Christmas already. You see my daughters and their families will be here for the holidays.
First time in ages, and being that is been a while I have to find the decorations. I haven't decorated in years and not sure if all will be fine. They have been stored in the crawl space above the garage and hope to get them down this weekend.



Decided to start with the gingerbread quilt,
have the strips cut  just need to press and attach. But before I can do that I needed to finish the last block of next months Farmers Wife

Another paper pieced block, #97 Tracy.
Using freezer paper this time all is going well except I did not receive enough of the dark purple print to finish it. I'll get tomorrow when I go to the shop.

    Yes, as much as we hate to rush the season it's nice to be prepared. It will be so nice for you to have your family there - I would be so excited!! I hope you find your decorations in good order! :)

    Decorating is sometimes a chore. I've tried to minimize over the years. You'll enjoy having family close. That's what counts! ;)

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. It's for the Birds

WHOO  - WHOO It's my day for 'It's for the birds" blog hop.  Before I start I need to give thanks to our cheerleaders  and If it wasn't for all their hard work this hop would not of happen.  Thank you ladies Now for what you stopped by for.
