SLOW SUNDAY

When you have a cold your day goes slowly, well mine has pretty much slowed to a halt today.

Yesterday even though I knew I was coming down with a cold but I was feeling well enough to sew most of the day.
It was too cold to go out and help with feeding the cattle and by the way we had 8 calves born this week. Pretty Red cows was not one of them thou.
One of the heifers here had a calf today but I get a picture when I feel better.


Update;
I am reposting this at Elm Street Quilts to show my January finish. Thi quilt is at the quilter right now and wish I had it back to finish the binding.


Finished the Vintage Christmas Quilt.
This is my January OMG


The pattern was well written and easy to follow.




It shows when you have so many pieces to sew together and it measures out right when attaching a multi blocks to a solid piece.





And I have to say partly to that I found my 1/4" and was pretty consistent. But instructions are great. 




Yesterday I figured a pot of Chicken soup would fix me but unfortunately not quite work. Today I have had the energy of a slug. But I had leftover soup so didn't have to make dinner.

I did have a spurt of energy this afternoon long enough to try the cutter I received for Christmas. 



Decided to cut the 2.5" strips need to make this months RSC17

I love it, made all this success in less than 2 hours.  That's collect, press and cut.

    I love the trucks even more now! Hope the cold soon goes, it is horrid when they linger isn't it. Keep having the soup and taking care of yourself!

    The Vintage Christmas Quilt turned out beautifully! I love those red pick ups! Hope you are feeling much better now. Colds are definitely no fun!

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. It's for the Birds

WHOO  - WHOO It's my day for 'It's for the birds" blog hop.  Before I start I need to give thanks to our cheerleaders  and If it wasn't for all their hard work this hop would not of happen.  Thank you ladies Now for what you stopped by for.
