Sunday Bliss

It's been a few days since I had last written but it's because I have been so busy that I haven't wanted to stop and write. I'm sorry
I have a new addiction, like I need another one, it's weaving.
While at my daughters in May, I came across this little rigid heddle loom.

It's a Schacht Cricket 10" Loom. A little one. Wasn't sure if this was something I would like or be able to master, so a small one made since. Thought was didn't want to spend too much on something I had no idea about what I was getting into.
Knowing that knitting, crocheting and all other handwork aggravates my carpel tunnel and can only do so much before it starts to bother me. 


And I have all this yarn in my stash that I want to use. Made a few scarfs but had to stop and rest, doesn't help that hand sewing affects the wrist also. I have to pick and choose what to work on.

Figure weaving would be easier on the wrist and it is.



It's very fast way to make a simple scarf, my first project took me only a couple days to learn and make.

Love it, love the rhythm on moving the shuttle and heddle.
Very relaxing and doesn't hurt even after a couple hours at working on it. Not like handwork.


This is what I'm working on today, started this yesterday and have about 30' woven already.


I need to thou spend a little time this evening finishing the wool applique for the Words to Live By.

    I have looked at looms a couple of times for an alternative craft but couldn't make my mind up. It certainly looks impressive and would make some beautiful table runners.

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. It's for the Birds

WHOO  - WHOO It's my day for 'It's for the birds" blog hop.  Before I start I need to give thanks to our cheerleaders  and If it wasn't for all their hard work this hop would not of happen.  Thank you ladies Now for what you stopped by for.
