It's Been 1 year

I can't believe that I would forget my blogs anniversary, it was last Thursday May 31.
WOW  1   Year
This has been a fun journey in my life and I have learned so much.
You see, older "Kats" can learn new tricks.
One of the main thing I learned is that there are so many friendly and nice people out there in blog-land.
Yes,   that means  you
You all have given me so much by way of taking your time to visit my blog and leaving so many comments. I love hearing what you have to say and a lot of times it gives me encouragement to continue and finding new things to share.
So I want to give something back to you all and it will be very simply.  I was thinking how I could express my Thanks and I realized that I have so many interests that I post about that some of you are interested in only one part of what I share. Whether it's gardening, the farm life, chickens, quilting, knitting, cooking or just a little bit of this or that, and I could not just focus on just one of those things, that would leave someone out.

So I decided to have a

and I think I found the perfect gift, something personal and you can pick it out yourself,
It is a

$ 25  Gift card

From

All you need to do is leave a comment and it can be about anything. You can say what you like, any ideas on what I could post about in the future, what was your favorite post, like I said anything but please no advertising and I need to be able to get back to you, so make sure your not a non-reply blogger. Your gift will come via e-mail from Amazon.

So for the next week I will leave it open for comments and on the June 11th I will have the drawing done by Ramdon.org.
I look forward to what you have to say, well let's start the celebration.

  25. Congratulations on your anniversary. I'm not sure how I found your blog -- but hey, chickens! My mother loves chickens (she wants a coop but we have too many wild critters that would have a chicken dinner regardless of fencing methods). Thanks for the fun. mlwright29(at)hotmail(dot)com

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...

Yarn Along 2/20/13 Spoon Pin Doily

It's snowing here and I know some of you are tired of snow but here we will take the moisture any way we can get it. Plus it just gives me a reason to stay in and work on some of my projects. In this picture I'm not sure if you can make it out but in the background there are some wild turkeys that hang around the house sometime, just  chilling This project I'm working on is Spool Pin Doilies.   I had never heard of them before until Bonnie Hunter had mentioned it on her blog . She a had a viewer send her one for her sewing machine along with a pattern. I did not like the pattern but loved the idea so I decided to make up my own version. I wanted a more simple, smaller and fuller doily. So I tried different thread sizes to get one that I like. (From left to right) I tried sock yarn, which I'll redo because I think I like that look. Heavy weight crochet thread, nope too big Bamboo yarn, I like it. Looks good on my Kenmore. Pearl c...
