Rainbow Scrap Quilts

Yeah, it's Friday. I get excited over Friday whether I have something to do on the weekend or not. Just an old habit from working.
Amy at Love Made My Home has not been posting Five on Fridays this whole month of August cause she taken the month off. She'll start back up next Friday but I still want to go ahead and post my Five for Friday
My five pics will be the five rainbow scrap quilts that I am making in regard to so scrappy RSC 15 challenge

I have 2 of the 5 sets caught up with all the colors for year.
Being that this month was indigo and here are my indigo blocks

Some how I miss counted how many blocks to make, need 2 more.

But then the other 3 sets, I still have to catch up on May and June the baby blue and the bright green.

1. Is the spool blocks. These are made from small pieces of scrap from trimming up my bigger scrap. I just couldn't throw them away, had to make something from them. Which those small slivers were perfect to make little spools. Now this one won't be a very big,  it will be more of a wall hanging size.

2. I'm not sure of the name of this block because I first saw this as part of show and tell at a guild meeting. This one still needs the baby blue and bright green blocks.

3. These are the curvy log cabin blocks, this one also still needs the baby blue and bright green blocks. The yellow ones I'm not sure about. They don't read a circle like the others. Could remake or not use them in the top.

4. This one is made out of 30's reproduction fabric to correlate with ours 30's club. We all show are RSC 15 blocks during our meeting. And when we meet next month I'll take pictures of everyone's blocks again and show them here.
I have all the colors done on this one

5. And a simple 9 patch where I use this method

So there are Five on Friday

I want to add a link to an earlier post where I gave name of patterns or links to ones, like the spools. Go Here

till next time

Countdown to Autumn. 18 days

After some thought I came up with a general "get to" list for a pre - Autumn preparation. I had mentioned a couple in the last post. I will keep those and have added a few more. I needed to remind myself that a lot of my ideas are a little premature hance the pre autumn and will be better done next month. So here is what I came up with... Deep cleaning is still on Planning activity for next month Decorating inside and out.   Making a fall outfit, sewing and knitting Find some new recipes to try Make a pair of fall or Halloween socks I will be focus on journaling with Autumn being the present subject.  Making sourdough bread again This one I have already started, Watching a cozy, feel good show. So "the man of the place" and are rewatching PBS All Creatures Great and Small. In a matter of a couple days we have watched season 1. I figure we need to refrain ourselves and keep it down to a couple episodes a night. Today I put a binding on another quilt from the pile. ...

How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...
