Starting today was the first meeting for the Block Busters created by Deb Tucker at Sager Creek Quilt Shop in Siloam Springs Arkansas.
It's a free class that meets each month where we will make 2 blocks each month, one for our self's and another to be donated for charity quilts.
These blocks are being made using Deb Tuckers FUNdamental tools.
At this meeting today the block we made used the Tucker Trimmer.
If you haven't seen or heard of one here is a link to Studio 180 Designs
There was a good turn out, actually the response has been so positive that they have 3 different time slots and they are all full.

Not just making the block but we had a chance to see how value combinations effects the overall look of the block. Just by looking at all the ones here is just a small taste. Like the one above, changing the dark red to the more medium floral gives its such a different feel.
The Tucker Trimmer helps make perfect hour glass unit and half squares.

A very fun block. Sounds like a very fun class. I've been to the Sager Creek Shop, it's a very nice place.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a GREAT idea for a class, and especially a way to get those donation quilts made.
