Another Zucchini Recipe and Sewing

I'm not sure if I'm boring you with another zucchini recipe or if you are like me and have an abundance of them that you are desperate for many way to use them up beside sharing them with others

So again I went online in search of a cookie that I hadn't made yet and I could send to "the little dudes". So after the Grandpa test, which by the way got 2 thumbs up, I packed them up and sent them priority mail. They should get them Friday along with the kaleidoscopes and Thomas the train cars.

Here is the link to the recipe I used.
They are moist and not overly sweet, perfect for the boys. Plus I was able to sneak in a little vegetable.

I am loving this break from the heat and humidity. We had a cold front move in with some rain. Its 12:00 right now and only 67 outside. Just wonderful. After it stops raining I'm going to spend as much time as I can outside as possible.

But until then I'm working on getting more done on the Red String quilt

I'm loving it even more as I keep adding blocks

Did the last 2 blocks for next months 30's club. Both are paper pieced and I am not a big fan of this technique. I find it tedious and doesn't always go together like it should. I know it's operator error.
These pattern can really not be made any other way but paper pieced for the most part. So I need to put on my Big Girl Panties and get over it.

Last night after making cookies I couldn't go to sleep so I stayed up and quilted on the 30's Sampler. I was able to complete another block, move my hoop and start on anther portion.
Finally went to bed around 2 am. I normally have no problem going to sleep and hope this is just a one time event.

Till next time

Countdown to Autumn. 18 days

After some thought I came up with a general "get to" list for a pre - Autumn preparation. I had mentioned a couple in the last post. I will keep those and have added a few more. I needed to remind myself that a lot of my ideas are a little premature hance the pre autumn and will be better done next month. So here is what I came up with... Deep cleaning is still on Planning activity for next month Decorating inside and out.   Making a fall outfit, sewing and knitting Find some new recipes to try Make a pair of fall or Halloween socks I will be focus on journaling with Autumn being the present subject.  Making sourdough bread again This one I have already started, Watching a cozy, feel good show. So "the man of the place" and are rewatching PBS All Creatures Great and Small. In a matter of a couple days we have watched season 1. How to Make a Portable Design Wall

I had wanted to get a portable design wall to take to retreats but did not want to pay the price. Looked at various pins on pinterest and took ideas from more than one to come up with my verison. It worked out great and only cost a fraction of the price. The PVC pipes, joints and 2 yards of felt cost under $22.00 My design wall is 4' x 4' which stands approximately 5 1/5' tall. For this size need 2 - 10ft length of 3/4" PVC pipe for the frame and 4ft of 1" PVC pipe for the feet Cut the 3/4" PVC into 4 - 4' section                                                                                       2 - 1' section              Cut the 1"  PVC into 4 - 1' section        ...
